My score is 29 as well, putting me in between NT and AS. Technically, I wouldn't be fully AS, but I do have some key indicators, the most prominent one being intense special interests. On the empathy scale, I score 58, which is above average.

I took it again. Received a 33. Half an hour ago,I received a 25.

I'm really confused here.

I really want to be invited to social gatherings, but I just suck at being normal. I really want to do these things, but I can't. I am more comfortable by myself.

It is difficult to accurately self-asses as your results indicate. I wouldn't say scoring 25 online should rule ot ASD.

And being normal is overrated ;) I understand what you're saying though.

Do you have sensory issues? Any stims? There's more to being on the spectrum than just the social piece.

I pace around my room. I have a really weird tensing habit when I clasp my hands together (in public too. It's very odd :( )

No sensory issues as I can tell. I had trouble with light a few years ago,but I put that down to too many days in my bedroom playing my computer. And that's gone now.

I only do that when I'm excited though. It's like I need to channel my energy. It's weird.

I don't remember pacing or tensing prior to the age of 20,though. I'm 25 now. Odd.

The only way to be 100% sure of autism if they find a for sure characteristic in the brain and use brain scans to absolutely be 100% sure.

But right now, the only way to diagnose autism is through a trained doctor prefroming a number of assessments and based on their opinion as a doctor dictate whether a autism diagnoses can be helpful and is a good fit for the person theyre assessing.

And even psychologists are wrong sometimes, people are being misdiagnosed all the time and autism goes under the radar just the same. And autism doesnt always present the exact same way.

Personally i feel that test is NOT a good indication for autism, and thats just my opinion as someone who isnt a psych. I feel that if a person REALLY beleives theyre autistic, they will subconsiously pick the answers that sound more autistic. Its a confirmation Biased. I think both non autistic people and autistic people can be guilty of this. Also the symptoms of autism can be exaggerated. Like "not liking loud sounds" i have never heard of a person enjoying loud noises, autistic or not. And there are millions of people that dislike socailizing, that doesnt mean that theyre autistic.

All im saying is, dont try too hard to make THIS one diagnoses fit, and consider looking into seeing a psychologist or a psychyatrist and talk about issues that are causing life difficulty Right NOW. WHo knows, there might be a diagnoses that could fit better and could help you much more.

I was referred to the asd specialist by another doctor. Asd didn't even cross my radar prior to this.
