If I am at the dinner table and I am somewhere in la-la land (I don't like the term inner life. . .It brings images of a alien bursting from a chest. . . :cry: ) and my parents ask me a question about my day, it really irritates me sometimes. Therefore, I make up a riddiculous BS story to un-irritate me, and possibly get a laugh. Humor seems to help me in this department.

Exactly! When I am overwhelmed or a question is really none of their business, I am extremely vague. If they don't like my generic answer, they can leave me alone. It just doesn't matter to me.
When I am being told of some NT adventure generously laced with gossip, when they finally come to the end of the story and expect me to add my two cents, I usually say, "Well, isn't that something?!" I have no idea what they take from that sentence but it always seems to suffice - they usually think I am agreeing with them! At the same time, my little "nothing sentence" can't be turned around and used against me later. :lol: People. Go figure :roll:

I just want to reassure Ghosthunter, I don't think any of us were refering to his type of questioning. I really don't mind being asked questions on the net, as they are usually sincere. What I am really bothered by are the questions that aren't really questions. The questions that say" I don't like that" or "you are strange" or "this bothers you doesn't it"
