Ooh, I forgot to list all the physical disorders in my family:

-heart disease and high cholestoral (though mine is fine right now, but my father died of a heart attack a year and a half ago)
-diabetes, but only Diabetes II that I am aware of and my mother is hypoglycemic (spelling?)
-Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome
-cancer of the uterus
-colon cancer
-lung cancer
-Irritable Bowel Syndrome (related to anxiety)
-overweight (compounding Diabetes and heart problems)
-asthma

With my dad, he didn't take care of himself and ate what he wanted basically. His father had a major heart attack and this weakened him and he then got colon cancer and could have fought it off better but his heart couldn't take it. My dad knew about this heart attack risk and still ate the way he did. Plus, he had Diabetes as well which can raise the risk of a heart attack. For some reason, I think he was egocentric enough to consider himself in an unconscious sense INVINCIBLE. I won't be making the same mistake.

  • Psychological/Psychiatric/Neurological/Learning Disorders
    • Me
      • Major Depressive Disorder, Recurrent
      • Asperger's Syndrome
      • Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder
      • Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, Combined Type
      • Generalized Anxiety Disorder
    • My Brother
      • Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder suspected in childhood
    • My Sister
      • I suspect ADHD, or maybe it's just somewhat normal adolescent irritability and defiance.
    • My Father
      • Alcoholism (now under control)
      • Nicotine Addiction
      • I suspect and my dad's girlfriend has suggested Adult Attention-Deficit Disorder.
    • My Mother
      • I suspect some anxiety disorder, probably Generalized Anxiety Disorder or Anxiety Disorder - Not Otherwise Specified.
    • My Maternal Grandfather
      • He shows some signs of having Asperger's syndrome.
    • My Maternal Uncle Ronald
      • He also shows some signs of having Asperger's syndrome.
    • Some kind of nephew on my mother's side, Andrew (he's still a child)
      • Asperger's Syndrome
    • Uncle Neil (a relative on my mother's side and Andrew's grandfather; I don't know his or Andrew's exact relation to me)
      • He shows numerous signs of having Asperger's syndrome.
  • Physical Conditions
    • Myopia (Near-Sightedness) - My paternal grandfather, paternal grandmother, mother, father, brother, sister, and I are all near sighted. It's very common on both sides of my family.
    • Hyperopia (Far-Sightedness) - My maternal grandfather
    • Diabetes - A great-aunt died from it, mainly because she didn't seek treatment.
    • Heart Disease - My maternal grandfather suffered a heart attack and actually drove himself to the hospital!
    • Stroke - My paternal grandmother suffered stroke that same summer--last summer. I guess my family had bad luck that year.
    • Cancer
      • My maternal grandmother died from cancer.
      • My paternal grandfather had surgery to remove prostate cancer.

A Few Talents and Virtues:

My father is an avid reader of history and fiction. My brother enjoys reading and arguing philosophy. My paternal grandfather will discuss politics with anyone who will listen. I enjoy many of these same things.

My maternal uncle Ronald is rather worldly: His job requires him to travel around the world to help repair industrial printers. He brings back unique Christmas gifts for everyone.

Near-sightedness runs on both sides of my family. I would say proneness to addiction is exists on my father's side of the family.

My second cousin has been diagnosed with AS (by the same psychologist that diagnosed me, in fact). I also think my father might have AS - I haven't seen him since I was 3, but from all I've heard about him, he seems to have some Aspie traits.

Go through the DSM, open to a random page, someone in my family likely has it, it what it feels like. I'm too lazy to list it all. Mainly oodles of anxiety disorders, depression, and additions. An eating disorder here and there too.

My moms side of the family

- I have an uncle who has epilepsy
- I have a cousin who has type I diabetes
- I have a cousin who is bi-polar
- My mom has a cousin who is either ADHD or some kind of PDD
- I have an ADHD cousin

My dads side of the family

My dads side of the family was a lot smaller. I know for fact that both of my grandparents on my dads side were both NT, going out to lots of parties, etc. However I suspect that something must be lurking somewhere in my dads side of the family.
