What diagnostic tests were used to diagnose you as an adult
I had two interviews with a psychologist with and specialty in adult ASD. I made sure she had experience with adult women before agreeing to see her. Each interview was several hours long, if memory serves me correctly.
I also brought in a short autobiography starting with experiences as a toddler. I remember a lot of life details and love writing. It was several pages. In addition I had a bullet pointed lists of things that made me suspect AS. She gave me several test forms to fill out, including one on anxiety, empathy, and day to day functioning (I don't know the names of these). We did verbal tests for memory. She asked me a ton of questions.
The next week she interviewed my grandmother on the phone, trying to determine if there were signs in childhood (there were PLENTY). The week after that she called me back in. We spoke some more and then she gave me the my 2 DX.
This news has set me free, helped me to understand myself better than ever before. I am more confident than I've been in years. I am also much happier knowing the truth. Before I felt like I was searching for a missing part of myself. Now I am complete and my questions are answered.
Sorry I don't know the test names. All I know is that they set me free.
