why do we still use wrong planet?

Hey, thanks for the responses so far.

It does feel like we have a good community here of like-minded people. Even when we disagree on things, we're here because we like to discuss things and I've learned a lot from other people.

I will try Firefox for a bit. See if I'm less frustrated with the site.

Keep on with your experiences with why you like using the site, it's very interesting.

WTF is going on with this site??? If it's not the spam it the pop up adds that take over my browser to the extent that I have to close my browser and come back to the site. The pain/pleasure principle is in full effect here. Is the juice worth the squeeze??? Frustrated!! !

If your browser is Chrome or Firefox, there are "add-ons" you can install free of charge to protect against advertisements and pop-ups. Adblock Plus, NoScript Security Suite and Privacy Badger are among the best.

WP is one of the few places where people on the spectrum can connect and talk about things that NT people on other sites might find weird and cringey and troll us like there's no tomorrow. Where I live there aren't many other people offline, if any, that I know I can connect with. And I've been looking for similar websites, but I haven't much of anything good.

We're working on eliminating the spam.

As far as popups are concerned, are you sure your computer isn't infected with malware or something? The site doesn't serve popups.

Websites are a lot of work, and quite frequently other people (such as spammers) like to abuse them, which isn't in an owner's control. I'd like to see more fixes but most days it works just fine.

I mainly come to forums to pass a little time if I'm bored during lunch. It's been a long time since I had a conversation with someone on one, or needed one for information.

My main broswer I use is Safari on my phone. And it works fine besides pop ups that say you $1000 Amazon Gift Card or a iPhone 7 Plus.

Personally, I liked the old format much better (and the whole site functioned better then). I absolutely hate the new color scheme, it's too bright and too pastel.

Yep....that $1,000 thing pops up on my phone, and on my tablet. It replaces WrongPlanet. It's a real pain in the tushey. How do you get rid of that?

Saying this, I go on WrongPlanet because I like to talk to people with whom I identify.

I also like to try to help people when I am capable; it makes me feel good (yes, selfish, but that's the way it is).
