I don't find any of these tests a reliable indicator of whether one is Aspie, autistic, whatever--or not.

I would only use them, at most, as a basis for future inquiry, rather than end the inquiry there.

You can be a good friend, but score "low" on tests which test "friendship skills."

I completely agree with you kraftie; these tests were not made too be diagnostic tools. However, I am wondering whether some of these tests don't even give a basis for further inquiry- that is, people with an ASD who score in the normal range may not ever be referred for an assessment because of a biased test.

They do form a basis for further inquiry. But I still wouldn't let the results of these tests point me in a certain "direction."

I think you'd make a good friend---but I think you'd be "odd" about it. Like I was.

I think you have lots of caring for people. But you hate to conform to others' standards--you hate the "games" which are played within friendships. Like I did.

Thing is, I consider my skills inside a friendship to be excellent. My problem is that I have very high standards for whom I'd consider a friend, and some rather massive walls people have to climb before I'd consider them part of my inner circle, so to speak. So, I'm good at doing friendships, I'm bad at getting friends and I'm not sure how to reflect that numerically.

Got it. Thanks for replying :D .

What are the "games" played inside friendships? I'm curious :D .

I am quite an odd friend- that's why I make friends with odd people :D . The reason I ask if this test was reliable in the first place was because some people (before they are diagnosed) might take these tests online, get an "average" score, and therefore not seek the help they need. Thank for saying I might make a good friend though :D .

There are many examples of games:

1. A "friend" might not call you/text you so he/she can see if you would call/text him/her.

2. They might ask to borrow money from you. Some people think a true friend is one who would lend them money in an "emergency."

3. They might try to make you jealous in various ways.

4. They might talk about somebody else, looking for you to talk about that person. Then go back to that person with what you said about him/her.

Stuff like that.

Gosh I didn't know people could be so cruel! My best friend right now would never do anything like that- she's too nice and aspie-like. I love our friendship because I don't have to guess any hidden "social cues". She directly says what she thinks and feels.

I took the FQ awhile ago, I don't remember my exact score but it was above average NT scores. There's no way that's accurate, my mom says that if friends are like plants I need friends who are cactuses :)

I gave a more negative view of friendship than what's actually been my experience, even though I've experienced all the things I mentioned.

Most people are probably "above" all which I have stated.

Please don't let what I said cause you not to want to be friends with somebody.

Lol I guess the test doesn't really work for a lot of people then :D .

Don't worry- I would never turn down a friendship just because of something that could happen. But people can be quite mean. Some of those things happened to my parents when they were younger.

I know what you mean. Luckily, I know almost all my friends from my computer science studies and people weren't like that. It was a very accepting environment. Talking behind other people's backs was seen as a bad habit there. Problem is when you have to be with that kind of people (usually one doesn't have a choice at the workplace) and cannot avoid them.

That's it. I'm going to study computer science :D (joking). I might actually though. It seems like you surrounded yourself with good people. I want to do that too.
