It is not the websites fault if somebody does go on a shooting rampage, but under the law if you are aware of anything to do with somebody harming somebody else you can be liable if you don't report it. Also this supersedes the relevant data protection in some cases.

No it is not, we cannot even verify the validity of this post and I doubt he is going to murder anyone.

Even if it be so, what harm did William Freund do to the AS community? and how the F*** is it our responsibility?

I wasn't around to see what happened with this whole William Freund incident so please explain how it ended up being a websites fault for a shooting rampage?

And then maybe explain how we could 'save the day' without screwing things up further ?


Nobody thought William Freund would murder anyone either. This isn't about the AS community. William Freund admitted he had intentions to kill on WP. He was mocked and ignored. Had he been reported to authorities, his victims would still be alive. Nothing makes tolga7t any differant. Unless WP reports him for death threats, then if and when he kills WP must bear the blame for not taking him seriosly.

I wasn't around when Freund was, and all his old posts were deleted after WP was sued. So, I can't say whether or not I'd take him seriously.

Personally, I'm not too alarmed about the OP's statement. I can't tell if it is a rant or a legitimate homicide threat. In the absence of proof that it is anything but a rant, I'm not going to loose sleep over it.

My co-workers have lately been the inspiration of a few homicidal thoughts. (Well, it's either get pissed at them or me....and I'm sick of beating up on myself)

But the thing to remember is people, god bless them, are just that, people. They are imperfect, irrational pack animals trying their best to survive by protecting their position in the pecking order. And doing that sometimes means making you their b*tch to give themselves more status.

I'm not a Christian, but that verse in the Bible, "Forgive them, for they know not what they do," is very relevant. Forgive them because people who hurt you do so partly because they're very scared of losing whatever they've gained and must feel very insecure about themselves. That must be a really miserable way of existing so be glad you're not one of them.

If you are thinking these things, then please talk to a psychologist. Don't go on a rampage and do something you'll regret later. Killing people isn't going to change how you feel.

WP was sued? What the hell did they expect us to do? People say horrible things on the internet ALL THE TIME. Besides, it's not like we can tell when people are being sarcastic or serious or joking in person- NEVERMIND online! And even if we COULD tell he was serious, what are we supposed to do about it? Someone somewhere in the world known only as kuyhrtlijh345863 or John Smith or Jane Doe plans to kill people. So what now?

Give me a f*****g break. Seriously.
