You should really know your audience If you make a joke relating to religion.

But i'm religious and Catholic, but contrary to my other fellow Catholic, I have a healthy distance to religion

That's a common joke, and it's nothing particularly offensive. Actually, to Catholics, the funniest thing about it is that it doesn't make sense at all. The common misunderstanding of the term is that the "immaculate conception" is Jesus, Who was born of a virgin. In reality, it's actually meant to refer to the Blessed Virgin, who was conceived without original sin but had two biological parents. With that knowledge, there's nothing to be offended about, and it's actually a good opportunity to correct a common misconception about Catholicism. If a Catholic is really offended by that joke, they actually don't know much about their own religion.

I did not know this THANKS :D , I went to my church regularly, but I did not know that, I talked to my buddy about this human body and children's biology series, he said he would rather leave the pregnancy, death and leukemia episodes.

So it's old joke? so i come with it accidentally
I told him that i hope you not force you son to believe that he was born from "immaculate conception" ?
But i believed that "immaculate conception" was about Our Lord Jesus Christ, and it was about Our Lady Holy Mother Marry?

Yeah, American Catholics cant get it straight either.

"The Immaculate conception" does not refer to Christ's virgin birth, but to his mom being conceived, though the normal biological way with two parents, but exempt from Original Sin

Ah, another one of those "special dispensations," where THIS IS ETERNALLY TRUE - except for this instance, and THAT instance, and whenever the church hierarchy decides that God changed his mind.

Like George Carlin, I have to wonder, when the Catholic church decided it was alright, after all, to eat meat on Fridays, what happened to all the people who had already gone to Hell over a ham sandwich? 8O

As for tactless jokes - if you're easily offended, you won't like me. And I'll probably find you to be an oversensitive, pedestrian, sphincter-clenching twit.

I'm not one of those people will@rd is talking about! Believe it or not, he shares almost the exact same opinions and style of thinking that I do. I love the posts where some ignorant person thinks that autism can be cured, "Autism Speaks" isn't that bad (right?), or someone doesn't think the core part of autism is atypical sensory processing. Will@rd will set them straight! I really like the sarcastic tone of his posts as well. Thanks for being here, will@rd! I really enjoy reading your posts.

I believe "Working on the Sabbath" is another one of these "special dispensations" , unless of course your doing the Lords work

No, I promise I am not. I just did not say the joke because I didn't think people would tolerate it.

Maybe it just me then and I read too much into your comment , maybe too literally

Sorry if my wording was weird.

No need to apologise , I'm the wierdo.

I'll try and explain: the fact you said you had 'dark humour' followed by you wanted to make a racist joke made me think think the two statements were linked i.e dark humour = black humour thus associating 'dark' to mean a skin colour. It sounds absolutly crazy now I've read it back but that's how my mind works sometimes and why I misunderstand a lot

I had a work experience at a pet store in the grooming section and one time, one of the employees were eating a sub. I asked, "Does that make you horny?" Needless to say, my work experience was terminated.

I have said plenty of things that have been met with embarrassed silence, none of them even remotely sexually oriented.

Please try to get away from your super-religious, homophobic friends (also regarding your other threads in this forum).

My roommate keeps telling me "All day in front of computer again?", "What did you do today?", "I am going out, don't get any strangers in and don't stay up late" as if I were a kid, despite me being older than she is. It was hurting me for a while because that's precisely the reason why I moved out from my parents house and it sounded like she is serious(I have trouble with recognizing jokes/sarcasm in tone of voice) - so I told her that it's pissing me off, explaining my reason. But she told me "I know - my parents also did that. I'm just joking".
She didn't stop the behaviour but I don't get irritated anymore (well, I do but I control myself before it gets to me) because I can tell myself "It's just a joke, she isn't really nagging, it just sounds so". I wish she would just stop but... well, people don't change habits easily and I prefer to change my own reaction than telling her to stop every single time she does it.

And she is an NT so she should have more "tact", right? Especially after I explained to her how I feel about it. But no.
So it isn't NT/aspie related. Some people just have a sense of humor that hits a sensitive spot of someone and noone thinks about other people sensitivities all the time. "Tactless" just means to forgot about them for a moment and accidentally say something that crosses the line to the wrong person.

I see that you are also from Poland :D

Apart from the topic, what do you think about this educational series, to which I gave the link in the first post, it once was very often screened in TVP (our Polish Public television network), did you remember it?

You're not a weirdo, Ferris, I interpreted it that way as well. Oh wait- I'm a weirdo

Yes, I remember the series and it was one of my favorites when I were a kid.
However when I am watching it now I have thoughts they should remove nudity from the opening. It didn't bother me at all when I were a kid (I don't even remember the nudity was there) but now when I am an adult it yells it's "not proper in a cartoon for kids" and makes me embarrassed. I guess my mind got perverted with age, lol.
