I just turned 17 and I'm shaving almost every other day. If I'm not working for a few days (my hours were recently cut cause my employer sucks), I won't shave until I have to go to work. I grew a nice beard before I got my job. Had to shave it. :( I've always developed a bit faster than everyone else my age. And my voice does this weird thing. It'll crack and change for a few months, then stop. And a few months later, it'll start up again. It hasn't happened since freshmen year, but it always bugged me. I once heard somewhere that obesity can cause puberty to start earlier than it's meant to. I've always been a little...hmmm.....the best word would be "dunlap"...I'm pretty sure no one here would know what that means...oh well...

I've always been on the short side and looked much younger. In elementary school, I can recall several times getting shuffled in with younger grades when I was in a crowded hallway. The second grade teachers would be trying to take me when I was in fifth grade.

I think I look pretty much my age, give or take a year or two in either direction. Back when I had long hair I used to get mistaken for a female from behind sometimes, if that counts for anything.

I’m thirty-six and still get carded for alcohol quite often. Most people think I am around twenty-five.

I was one of the smaller kids in grammar school and stayed small and underweight through the high school years. At sixteen, I was only 5’7” and 120 lbs. I never made it past 5’9”, but eventually weighed 180 lbs. My normal weight now is between 145-150 lbs.

Yes, I have heard that too. AS people mature slower than other people.

I am not maturing slower. Probably at a higher rate than some people who are only around a month younger than me. I have the deepest voice in my year and I am quite tall. I have facial hair developing. SO I appear to be developing at either the same or greater rates than other boys in my year.

I guess I look younger than I really am. One of my friends at school thought that I was 14 when he first met me, but I'm 19

I am not sure if right now I look older or younger for my age. I am quite slim, so I probably still appear young. However, I matured quite slowly in my teens. When I was 20, I was twice taken to be younger or the same age as my sister, who in fact is 5 years younger than me. I started shaving at 21.

My NT brother told me that several times.

I'm 34 and am often mistaken for 22 or 23.
When I was 18 I looked about 13.

I answered the door once when I was 23 and the salesman on the doorstep asked me if my mum was in 8O and I took great delight in telling him 'I don't know, if you call round at her house 7 miles in *that* direction, you'll find out'

When I was eight grade as I was just hitting puberty, I heard a classmate I went to grade school with tell another person that I looked the same then as I did when I was in kindergarden. However, as I got out of high school, people thought I was older than I was, which I think might have been a result of my tall stature.

I'm far too tall to be a Hobbit - so I guess I'm an Elf..?

I have always looked a lot older than I actually am. I'd love to look younger and be tiny(I'm tall) but no such luck for me! :P :?

I'm 31, and to be honest I certainly look like I were 5-6 years younger. I just wish I could use that to my advantage before I hit the point of no return... you know what I mean. :?

I guess a lot has to do with the AS personality: since the typical Aspie isn't a "Party Animal", at least not of the binge-drinker and chain-smoking type, IME - those things seem to accelerate aging. I can attest it on some NT mates that look almost double their age.. :P

I have some of these issues. I only really need to shave every other day, and I am 23 years old. And I never really had my voice change, I don't even remember it changing at all... it just gradually got lower... and not by much. I also still have acne problems, quite annoying for someone my age. My face is all rough due to so much Acne...

People generally don't know what age I am. Since I don't talk too much, and wait to be spoken to do anything, they tend to think I am older than I actually am. When I was 20 or so, people thought I was 25. Now when I told someone I am 23, they sort of didn't expect that...

I had to show ID last year to buy a glass of wine with lunch on my 41st birthday.
People never believe my kids are all mine (our oldest is 22).
