Do you ever discredit autism on purpose?

I only do it because I am confused and I wanted to understand the difference between myself and everyone else. Doesn't everyone act worse on their bad days or when they are stressed? Why does everyone say I slip onto the autism scale but they don't say that about others when they are stressed or anxious or upset or having a bad day? Wouldn't they slip in and out of it too since everyone shows something from the criteria from time to time?

I haven't sought a diagnosis because of my fear that I may lose all the gains I struggled to make and the fear I may end up having someone else decide what I can and cannot do, which was a constant in my life growing up.

You need not tell anybody you are autistic.

At times, I've personally discredited the Autism Spectrum; that is the concept of "discredit" mainly stemmed from encouraging the power of positive thinking!

Hence negative thoughts e.g., excuses can too easily become a "self fulfilling prophecy of sorts" are best avoided!

I agree. I don't like people to tell me "it can't be done." However, I have to use my common sense.
