I read it the same way. It was a diagnosis of sorts so it's easy to interpret 'legit' that way.

@ilikemusic, it was prolly meant as a complement. People in other forums have told me I don't sound autistic and I believe they meant it as a complement.

Exactly

No. Its not that the folks in question don't "look autistic". Its that there is no autistic look to resemble to begin with (as there is with say, Downs Syndrome which does have a physical facial look). That unless by "looking autistic" you mean wearing pocket protectors having uncombed hair, and having one shirt tail tucked in and the other tucked out and generally looking like a social misfit. Then in THAT sense one might "look autistic".

She told me I was too handsome. She also approached me from behind. That causes me to feel uncomfortable. The other annoying thing is that she doesnt even know me. She then told me she thinks that if Im socially awkward it causes me to be attractive. WTH. Then she asked me to hang out with her. I said yes. I have a hard time saying No. It was bad. She and her friends are loud. Ahhh. I felt so uncomfortable

handsome + attractive + wants to hang out = hitting on you

Don't feel bad that you can't see this, many autistic people (even me) are slow to figure these things out.

As to why you would want that, I don't know - a lot of forum participants would love to have that much female attention. Maybe you aren't at that point in life yet. Maybe you never will be.

Because of social skills deficits, a lot of us didn't go through the normal stages of early dating and flirting, at the age most of our peers did, and this can lead to a lot of trouble later on. But nobody can tell you to do these things if you don't want to.

Thank you. Im sorry but dating and that stuff is annoying for me. Thinking of it makes me want to scream. Im 18-19 and I have never dated. I feel stupid for that. I jusy want to be normal sometimes.

I agree, but every few weeks or so a thread pops up saying about physical features in autistics, like big ears or something like that.

Well somebody told me you had a boyfriend♬
Who looked like a girlfriend
That I had in February of last year
It's not confidential, I've got potential..♩ ♬

But nah, autism does not affect chromosome count so that following statement was false.

That person probably didn't look like a moron, either, and yet they were.

I'm 38 and I've never dated. So I'm far worse than you.

You're right. It really should be "Someone legitimately told me..." if modifying the verb "told" rather than describing the "legitimacy" of the person. Language rules are constantly being broken & rewritten, however... :(

Sorry. I will do that next time. I just hear people at my school using it as slang. They will say "I legit just.."
