I will often say something like "I teach dogs to play poker"

They don't usually ask follow-up questions.

Yes it is a question that people have asked me through the years. So What Do you do to socialise? Or What do you do for fun?

I find I hate being asked that question I find it very awkward as well.

I get very cagey when asked that kind of question.

I remember around the time of my diagnosis I used to get school teachers ask about my ‘Social Life’ outside of school as if it is their business. Or teachers being concerned about my lack of a social life outside of school hours.

I did have a group of friends at school sometimes we would meet up outside but I always thought that holiday time and my time at home should be dedicated to me. That was how I thought especially at Secondary School.

After years and years of a similar feeling than yours i realized that common people ask this questions not because they are interested in what you have done but in establishing some kind of communication, a small talk, a way to socialize, like talking about weather or football.

That said, there is a small amount of people who ask this kind of questions showing real interest and respect, so..... just be yourself.

..............

Otherwise, i love been bored and boring, i have nothing to demostrate noboby and i have the right to open myself or not to the people i choose.
