For anxiety benzos or CBD oil I have found work the best. I have been on 13 different antidepressants, 6 antipsychotics, 7 benzos, along with many other drugs, herbs and supplements over the years. I know Risperdone is approved for autism but CBD oil works for anxiety and meltdowns and has a WAY safer and tolerable side effect profile than Risperdone or other antipsychotics. Best of all no prescription needed.

Benzos work well in the short term or used occassionally but tolerance and dependence build quickly to daily use. Benzo withdrawal is also very severe and if you go thriugh withdrawal from a high enough dose that you have been on for long enough it can even potentially kill you.

The best thing for me has been Equine. Does that count? They aren't exactly "medication" Otherwise Prozac to address depression helps me keep consistent level and not biting people's heads off.

I have autism diagnosed by neuro psyche with family report. Level 2. Require services. lntellectual impairment, learning impairment. PTSD someone wanted to murder me sort of diagnosis when I was old 48. Bullies and bad times didn't equal that day. Struggled with anxiety all my years. 54.
zoloft low dose helped a bit. physical exercise. equine therapy. earphones, throwing myself against something very hard, an occasional ativan 1 mg. don't drink or do drugs. ativan was changed two months ago in favor of gabapentin by psychiatrist... began to visit sanctioned suicide after two year hiatus when gabapentin started...but it does relieve anxiety fast. gabapentin neurontin caused big coordination problems, disturbing thoughts and increased my dystonic tremor and an increased need in autistic services which I don't have. Family too old to assist even if gave accurate report to neuro psyche.
Psychiatrist felt adding DBT to my gabapentin would help. it isn't helping enough.

All of this. Also age has helped my self confidence and anxiety, getting past the awful teens and 20s when there is so much expectation and pressure on socialing, being popular, cool, being seen as attractive etc., being accepting enough to say no to certain things and choose a lifestyle that works better for me. Online shopping means I never need to go to a supermarket again the rest of my life! What a game changer. Moving out of a city and to the countryside. Losing weight and getting into healthier special interests.

^^^your mileage may vary, but Strattera [Atomoxetine generic] worked well for me 'cept for 2 side fx- GERD, and "the ooze." others have had more of the 2nd side fx than i did, however.
