I dont particularly like them, and I find them very annoying. But for some reason little kids seem to love me, and Ive got an itty bitty tiny soft spot for them, so I dont mind watching them or playing with them for a small while so long as they are well behaved and theres no crying or screaming.
I both teach beginner riding lessons and work a childrens summer camp, so Im quite used to dealing with them. I dont babysit tho. Kids tend to be much more inclined to misbehave in there own homes.

Agree, don't understand the hate. Much better than people our own age or older.

Age discrimination

The statement "children are annoying" is globalization

That's like saying "milk is good for you"

Some people are allergic

Some milk is rotten

At a job interview someone asked "do you like children?"

What a weird question

Just because someone is a child, does not guarantee that I "like" or hate them

I like your way of seeing it

"Children" literally means two or more

But the statement sounds like all children

 splitting fine hairs

Pattern recognition versus globalization

I neither like or dislike children. Those that are at squealing and high pitched scream age, though, I could certainly do without.

I find it difficult when a child says, "Let's pretend we're...". I just can't do pretend play, even at my age. I don't understand it.

Sure I do like children overall.
Autism wise; Got no sensory issues to get rid of that, not intolerant enough to find them annoying due to their unpredictability, nor alexithymic or inexperienced enough not to play certain games with them.

Of course there are certain types of children I do find annoying. Most of them tend to be an actual practical brat (as opposed to loud and needy), or too much of a bully (as opposed to playful and chatty).

I'm close to 35 and I'm not particularly fond of small children. I like my cousin's kids but I get annoyed with my mom when she looks after my cousin's 4 year son every other Thursday. I think my cousin should get his real grandparents to look after him and stop bringing her son to my mom's house a little less often. I also have a sore hip and it doesn't help listening to her little son in the house. It isn't his fault but his mother should maybe get his real grandmother to look after him a little more.
It depends on the child. But I find that nowadays, a lot of the reasons that little kids annoy me is that they are not getting proper parenting. Little kids who have parents who are not afraid to discipline them when they need it and who get the proper care, love and attention from their parents that they need, I find them delightful.
