When you first heard/read about Asperger's and some parts did and others did not jive with your situation, did you go in stages of letting out Aspie behaviors that you may have bottled up or sublimated over the years...
Did this make sense?

Perfect sense.
I've known about AS for a little more than a year now. Just yesterday I decided to conduct an experiment. I was seated in a small crowded room and decided to observe the other 20-25 people (instead of paying attention to the speaker  ). I was shocked. I was the ONLY one whose leg was rocking back and forth or whose foot was wiggling. THE ONLY ONE. Each time I consciously stopped my leg, I'd realize it was doing it again within moments. Some people were fidgeting, shifting weight or position a bit, but NO ONE else was knee-bouncing or foot-wiggling.
How can people just SIT for so long???

And this is interesting.
Off and on the last couple days I have made conscious effort to keep my hands and feet still - and my hands away from my face (beard, eyebrows, nose, etc): It's really hard! And when my feet are not moving/bouncing they are wrapped and entwined together like wires or rope or licorice.
????????????????

yes, you do notice things like shaking and 'stimming' ... I can't stop certain behaviors that I've always had that now I realize are not 'normal'... even if I want to stop them it is difficult -> such as rocking or shaking
