Reading the life changing magic of tidying up by Marie Kondo for second time. Such a gentle and inspiring approach to changing your life forever by putting your things in order. I am so disorganised because executive function of my aspie brain does not work properly. This is the bane of my life.

I have discipline myself to get rid of the clutter in my closet.

The KonMari Method is not about discipline but about self-love. Organising your home and your life because you want to feel better about yourself. Discipline sounds too harsh for me. It makes me not want to do it.

I agree with many of you that farms and close-knit communites are a must for me. I'd like a cottage, on several acres of land. Each room arrangement will feel cozy, but not cramped. I will only have air conditioning in my living room, as that will be where my vinyl, tapes, guinea pigs, and gaming/televison peripherals will be. I will have central heating only if the area isn't a tropical paradise. I love the idea of walking everywhere.
The house itself will only have enough room for myself, my pets, and my stuff. It will be made of masonry. I will have rooms that are perfect squares or rectangles. The house will run on whatever renewable energy is best for the area. There will be windows on the sides that get the most sun (east and south in northern hemisphere) in every room.
The furniture and walls will be perfectly color coordinated to a semi-dark color. The furniure and textiles will not have any animal-derived fibers. I will have cats that can access an ourdoor enclosure from the living room. The yard will have the tiniest amount of grass (only there for guinea pig food) with a curated food and native species garden.
The kitchen will be an eat-in with plenty of cabinent space for tools and foods. My bathroom will be small and have a shower stall.

Very quiet, private and secluded, absolutely burglar-proof, CCTV system, nice view, good air quality, excellent temperature control, self-sufficient in energy, low maintenance, nice acoustics, good music system, plenty of storage space, comfy bed, comfy chairs, moderately-sized walled garden, fridge and freezer, quiet but efficient washing machine, good-sized sink, bathtub, efficient toilets, reasonable-sized kitchen.

My ideal home would have as little stuff as possible. A Steinway would be cool, too (though I don't play piano LOL)

I don't have it yet. I agree as little stuff as possible. I hate stuff.

Good for you two. Everyone else seems to assume that it is OK for others to have far less than they do, despite the usual difference in productivity.

I want lots of stuff in my home. Just stored perfectly so it's easily retrievable and well-protected from damage and dust, and out of the way when not in use.

Very quiet and cozy in a beautiful natural lots of land property with water and forest and trails for hiking and biking.

The house would need lots of natural lighting, a sunroom, an area where I can grow produce inside, a chef's kitchen and pantry designed to suit all of my needs, water closets with composting toilets, nice sized bathrooms, a bathtub that I can fit in, an arts and crafting room, a good functional office space, a library/slash music room, a very efficient and functional laundry area with room to iron and hang dry clothes, a workout area with an endless salt water pool, a room to wax and tune my skis and snowboards, a bike and kayak storage room with work area, a big garage with a high roof where we can do our car repairs indoors, a nice deck, foyers at every entrance since we never wear outdoor shoes in the house and all visitors must remove their shoes before entering, and good, functional closet space, a dumb waiter, and an indoor fireplace and an outdoor fire pit, rain barrels, and be ecologically friendly and use sustainable energy. And all the plumbing must be easily accessible. And I would like a moss roof and hepa air filters and whole house water filters.
