My posts are too long.
See, everyone not only likes you, they appreciate your words and your honesty.
Even bogan aussies.
I tend to write in forums quite a lot these days. You think I write well. You should see my Mum. She does not write online though. I am am like a beginner compared to her. They want one of her books to e re-printed. She is unlikely to get anything for it. She didn't when it first came out. She just wanted to record a bit of local history.
There was a library next door to where my Mum first lived. My Mum started reading and writing when she was 18 months old as her Mum had endless patience, by the time she was six, my Mum had read most of the books in the library and that includes the adults ones. She was known as a walking dictionary for many years! Haha. As a young child she also learnt poetry and rhymes and could speak entirely in poetry form to whoever she needed to talk to between the ages of 8 to 12. Used to drive her Dad nuts! Haha.
Her Dad was a designer and worked for any companies. He invented electric windows for vehicles (Though unknown to anyone here they had already been invented in the USA)... But here no one had heard of them. He designed them to solve a problem. Large cabbed fork lift trucks ad to go in and out if the factory, and every time they had to go out they had to book out at the gates with their paperwork... Winding down the window was costinb time. He designed and developed electric windows operated by a button on the floor, so the drivers could have their hands free and operate the windows with their feet. The factory opposite saw the design and copied it with their cars. It was the Aston Martin factory. The first cars in Europe to have electric windows.

I enjoyed that.
Your mum sounds wonderful.
If I am found to be on the spectrum, my Mum is as well. Though her tallents are in different areas to mine, and she is more sociable then I am, she generally thinks in the same ways as I do.
Looking back, I believe my Dad was an NT, and as his ways of thinking were different to mine and my Mums, we assumed he was the odd one out! I used to really admire my Dad as he could walk into anyones house and get on with them as if he had always known them. I would hardly say a word and be dead shy. I would not attempt to knock on their doors....
However, when I can mask well, I know I am good at selling things. However, I have not been this time where I am working, as I think due to anxiety etc, I have been guarding myself from partial shutdowns, as I have been on almost a continual mild partial shutdown... So it has been a struggle behind the scenes, let alone spending time on the shop floor.
My Mum has been very impressed how I deal with people when I have been selling some of my trains at a toy and train fair. I am selling the ones I am no longer using. The 00 gauge trains. I am keeping my 7mm narrow gauge trains as I have made them so they are more personal to me.

The problem is, for me to make bullet points takes about ten times longer then if I write a book, as I have to almost write a book and keep condensing the work down until finally it becomes bullet point material. It is a back to front say of doing it I know!
I struggle with the same thing. To write an essay, I usually write about 500% my word limit and have to severely cut it down. The difficulty is that it's time consuming, the benefit is that your ideas really have time to percolate and people really do listen then. If I can encourage you, it really is a worthwhile skill to work on as aspies are known for their often unique contributions of thought, and if it's well formulated even more people will get to benefit from it.
To be clear, I have noticed your posts are long, but they're not overwhelming like some aspie posts I've read.
I actually should put more thought into how I write on this forum as it's the one place I don't overthink and I often wonder whether people ever understand what I mean (it often feels like they don't). I like having somewhere I can just write, and I think if there's anywhere it's ok to be needlessly verbose, it's wrongplanet. Sure, many might skip or skim read, but usually someone will give it a go.

I do tend to delete about a third of all I write where I could spend an hour writinb a reply, and then think it is too long and scrap the whole lot. Many of my long posts I do this with.
Haha, my psychologist commented once that my writing is far easier to understand sometimes than my verbal communication. She mentioned a specific email...I said, yeah, I spent three hours writing those 2 short paragraphs! I edit, re-edit and usually don't hit send!

I am trying to imagine what a pyschologist looks like. Haha. I know. I have strange thoughts!

Thanks IstominFan.
When I write them, as I am not sure if I have asperges/autism, I am writing blindly, so I am writing through my experiences and trying to explain them to see if they relate to the things that others get who have been assessed.
It is an odd ad brave experience to write blindly as I risk ridecule if I am wrong. (Or it feels like it).

I try to avoid making long posts, because I myself tend not to read such things, and (I would think) more people will read short ones. Long posts take a long time to read, and I often feel the need to limit the time I spend on a thing, so I'll often skip to the shorter posts. I've probably had too many experiences of getting hyperfocussed on one matter for so long that the rest of my life suffers, so I usually ration my time. It helps if posts are divided logically into paragraphs, though for some reason I tend to shy away from the ones that have a lot of paragraphs of only one or two lines each.
But if I'm not careful I end up making long posts. It's the way my brain works. I tend to think and write about things in as much depth as I can, and I don't feel I've done my job unless I've given a full answer that takes into account all the nuances I've thought of and made my points clearly. It's hard for me to let a point go once I've thought of it.
But writing and talking at length risks losing the very clarity it aims to provide, because it can tire the reader or listener so that their attention suffers. I've noticed in written dialogue with people that the more I write, the less they read, as judged by their replies that often show they didn't read it all. Less is more, to a degree.
So I do a lot of editing down. It's often tricky because the details seem important for clarity, but sometimes I notice I've repeated myself (only in different words), so I can delete one repetition without losing anything. Sometimes I notice I've given superfluous examples so I can delete those. Sometimes I see I've gone off topic so that can go.

Bingo. This is me too. Like MountainGoat, I also delete at least 50% of what I write, sometimes more like 500% in the worst case.
This time around, I'm going to stop writing and click Submit right now. (*actually after making about ten edits...)

Not sure who Dr Phil is... The funny thing is, that in my mind I think of the Dr character in the Simpsons. The one with the white coat and a flashlight thing on his head. Haha. It would be hillarious if one day I find a real psychllogist and he looks like that. I am likely to get the giggles! Oh my mind is too visual! HAHAHA!
