Thank-you Amity for your post mentioning 'community sustainability most of all.'

One suggestion for this discussion thread draws close parallels to what those awesome creative-writing instructors (some of us had in our school-years) wanted to instill.

For example, how have experiences with posting, and reading WP contributed towards personal growth? Anybody find that WP experiences are cathartic, informative, and personally helpful?

Anybody feel that participating in the WP community may (or may not) have made a difference in boosting NT awareness of the Autism Spectrum?

ADDENDUM: Does anybody draw parallels with creative-writing experiences, and participating here on WP? Such parallels can yield important insights in this discussion thread.

More generally, a "Locales" section, with threads for each country, or, for large countries, threads for each major metropolitan area.

No.

Just a section for Scotland.

If it's not from Scotland it's CRRRRRAP!! !! !!

It would be helpful to see more continuity in discussions here on WP. One suggestion is to reconsider the 'QUOTE' option to respond to previous posts in discussion threads - which can help maintain continuity in threads.

The 'REPLY' feature is often applied in responding to discussion threads - yet the 'REPLY' option alone often yields that discontinuity in discussion threads.

In discussion threads with fewer than twenty-four posts, it only takes a brief time to read posts in threads, and hence select which post(s) to apply the 'QUOTE' option. Discussion threads with more than twenty-four posts may become too cumbersome to evaluate - hence, the 'REPLY' option might appear as a choice.

I would like to see thoughtful considerations of how the general news media puts "negativity frames" in and around their narrative reporting about AS people, how that harms AS people as a whole, and how AS people could contribute to changing and challenging this in creative and constructive ways.

Some examples for action outlined here: viewtopic.php?t=381120

The Proverbial "Elephant in the Room:" - this is a forum for a medical condition yet there is no autism science threads??

Where are the science research updates and studies that come out all the time?

This deserves a permanent thread along with politics / social etc..

We're always talking about things we're hypersensitive to many things, but I've read autistic people can be hyposensitive as well. So what things are people here not very sensitive to that others, including NTs, might be?

Let's reassess the difficulties in "thinking (or stepping) outside the box" (a "tunnel vision" of sorts) stemming from day- -to-day concerns. To better handle such difficulties (to "break the ice" so to speak) might just yield much needed perspectives here on WP!

I agree with this. And if it's too hard for some people, more focus on other positive things would also work if you ask me. Maybe we could start a positive post bombing on haven? :D

People making more topics about their special interests could help with that, too.

Yeah, why are there no such discussions here. It would be great to see more topics on interests and stuff but no one else seems to do that, which is surprising on an aspie forum.

What's needed are additional discussion threads similar to....................'What Topics, Sentiments, Etc. Need More Focus on WP?' -- that is threads which can serve as both speed-bumps, and guides in navigating the WP environment!

.

Where are they?

They don't exist.

There are occasional autsm related studies, but they don't come out "all of the time".
