Not sure what you mean by 'traditional' way ...

All I'm aware of is that I've been able to tie my shoes since age 4-5 and doing the same ways of trying shoes the whole time. No one taught me another ways to tie shoes unless I start bothering with it...

Regardless; I'd prefer slip ons and velcro's.
No straps; buckles, garter, laces and just no laces to bother with -- whether I can afford tying shoelaces easy with one hand each (I can actually do that) or not.

Yep, same here. Bunny Ears!

It took me until 9 or 10 to tie my own shoes. I didn't get it. To this day I prefer shoes that are already laced.

Actually, thinking of it, I have never been able to tie them the traditional way. I use a different easier way to get the same results.

I battle along with having learned the bunny ear method when about 10. One of the co-ordination challenges I have, such as manual gears. But they often come loose. When I run, I prefer to use the special laces you can get now that lock in place. You just slip them on your feet and are ready to go - no tying, no stopping to tie undone laces. They're expensive but worth it as they last as long as the shoes do.

I cannot tie shoes or knots in general. I need someone's help to do it. I'm very happy I've gone a long while without needing to tie anything. I only wear shoes without laces.

As a child I tried and tried the bunny ears method. No success. Then someone showed me the single loop method and I conquored it.
I do remember that compared to others in my class, I was a few years behind most of them, though I don't think I was the last in my class to learn.

I can't do the bunny loop way, but I mastered the traditional way when I was about five.

I learned with the ribbons on my nightgown.

Because I have coordination difficulties I don't know what exactly, all the usual tasks, tying laces, telling the time, riding a bicycle were difficult. Typing/texting is stunted, my brain seems to jam and my fingers refuse to obey. Maybe to do with my ADD?
My parents considered me to be mildly ret*d and stupid and gave up trying to help me cope very quickly, by four years old if I couldn't do it myself then I just didn't have tied laces or whatever else needed organizing. I write in a very haphazard way, and get tired after a few minutes of holding a pen. I had to wear a tie as part of my school uniform, between that and tying my shoes I was usually late for school.
The more time I spend on WP the more I realise that I'm not NT.
When I was small in post war England I had to wear a "liberty bodice" a sort of victorian vest (not waistcoat)
it's a white undergarment with ribbons at the side that I had to tie also. Now I realise how ancient I am!
