Is it common for autistics to say everything they think?

For Asperger's alone? Not that I'm aware of.

However, frequent oversharing can be a sign of AD(H)D.

I do have ADHD as well.

I catch myself oversharing things from time to time. I really have to make an effort to think before I speak.

Oh yes, I was once someone who seemingly mentioned just about every thought.

I once felt I had to note / mention just about every sleep-dream I had. I had become well...fascinated with putting dreams to words (which I've been told I do quite well; that is well by first of all remembering dreams in sufficient detail).

I've even created images on Photoshop of those rare dreams; that is it's rare to have those dreams which can readily be recreated to imagery.

Presently, I occasionally mention only those dreams that are hilarious, seemingly notable to everyday situations, or involve social situations (regardless of whether or not these social dreams are based-on real-life experiences).

In short, I've found it best to selectively express perspectives based on everyday concerns; as well as even more selectively expressing experiences through (sleep) dreams.

Anyone do this? My friend says all his thoughts out loud even to his own disadvantage, it's the same when he's texting. Is this common? He cannot control it, when he has said something that could put him at risk or was inappropriate he immediately realises and explains that it's out of his control. He is not negative about other people, just can't keep secrets, opinions or experiences to himself. I really know all his secrets, it's a good job I'm trustworthy. :D

I tend to share everything, but I do keep a few secrets private. But generally I'm an open book and I do tend to talk out my thoughts.

I've been told I sometimes pick-up on speaking styles of accomplished people; that is I pick-up such styles by osmosis.

Most notably, I pick-up on the styles narrators on some PBS documentaries, and quality news/radio broadcasters i.e., no noise-machines with propaganda and sensationalism here.

Sometimes, I'm told how my styles show subtle similarities to broadcasters. I often find such mentions quite funny!

If I stopped and thought about whether or not what I was about to say (or post) would offend someone, then I would never say (or post) anything again.

It seems that no matter what I say (or post), someone will take offense, and possibly even imagine that what I said (or posted) was aimed directly at them!

Life is too short to worry about every single snowflake that falls from the sky.

I have to edit most of what I say and have been told that some were not ok.

Nice! I love how those people talk its easier to understand.
The best is David Attenborough's way of speaking.

I say things to talk them through so I have a clearer understanding of what's on my mind at the time. My Mum and I do this. It does not mean that we are going to act on it. There have often been bad feelings when we meet people who only speak out the things they are about to do, as they say "But you said..." assuming that you were about to do what you said type of thing. So there is often a missunderstanding, as I am a person who needs to talk things through before I make decisions about something.
