Wow, you actually get invited to parties?! That just reminds me how much worse my Asperger is than most people. I would totally go to parties too, if only I was ever invinted, which never happens.

Spread the word! I know I don't get asked anymore because I always say no. But if I let it be known I would actually go I'm sure I'd get an invite.

I never heard of that place. But anything in Michigan I like by default: I did my first Ph.D. at the University of Michgian (Ann Arbor) and I wish I could go back in time.

I don't know about sports but academically University of Michigan ranks higher than Michigan State. But then again, both of them rank A LOT higher than University of New Mexico (where I am at right now). So I would rather be in either of those two places than where I currently am.

Well, I was never asked on the first place, so I didn't even have a chance to say either yes or no.

Its true, however, that people might still "assume" I will say no -- just from the fact that I am always by myself which makes it look like I want to be by myself. But then thats a chicken or egg problem. They are the ones who aren't inviting me -- so its their fault I am by myself. If they were to invite me they would get an enthusiastic yes, but they don't.

I graduated from a school from a for kids with ASD in MA. Was one of those year round programs. Anyhow those days behind. I have been looking into comptia A+ certification and other means of getting into the IT field.

I can't read this sentence. By "from a school from a for" did you mean "a school for"?

So how is that school differ from regular school? What kind of classes did they have? If an autistic kid is high functioning, were they able to take normal classes in that school? What about classes needed to get into the university?

What does the term A+ certification stand for?

Well my cousin said she was having a party after all this is over, so I will definitely go to that.

Do you get invited to the parties by people other than your family?

Not really. A guy at work invited me and my boyfriend to his wedding reception but he and my boyfriend knew each other years before I did.

I've never been clubbing in my life and I've never been drunk.

If you work maybe just bring up that the group should get together, even if it's just lunch. Everybody likes to eat! Or join the social committee. That's how it starts. :)

Was the school for kids with only high functioning autism or any functioning area?

Yes, typo XD

It knida depended, we had a few kids with pretty severe cases. It was meant to be a treatment program but it was VERY STRICT, like you had to ask to get up let alone the bathroom. Classes where based mostly on basic topics like math history etc. Some of it was based on the individual. There is allot I could go into. They had let kids go to the local High School to take more classes. It was called the Eagleton School and was shut down a few years ago due to abuse charges. I am glad I was not there.

It is a tech certificate that basically proves you know your stuff.

Well, if it helps any, I don't get invited to parties, either (though I admit it does seem to me like my autism is a bit more severe than that of the majority of posters here). Throughout college, I only ever got invited to one party, and that was a small Pride and Prejudice themed birthday party for the person who dragged me into some evangelical church.

Well, I did have plans, but they were time-sensitive plans and it looks like quarantine is going to go on too long for either of the two things I was hoping for to happen. I was going to go to summer camp in late June (a camp for kids with Tourette's, autism, OCD, and/or ADHD, where the young adults (though I'm not really such a young adult anymore) get to attend and do the activities and stuff but also have to spend some of the time helping out in ways like making sure the water coolers are full, emptying the trash, moving things from the dining hall to the pavillion for the cookout, etc. I don't mind - in fact, I rather enjoy - helping out as long as they don't force me to do anything that involves direct interaction with people, like taking the campers to their cabins (which is one of our duties, but I usually manage to not be asked to take anyone - I guess that's a good side to my social invisibility)), but the rotary camp it's held at is not hosting any camps in June this year and it can't be rescheduled to July.

I was also going to have my mom take me to Wichita (about a 2-3 hour drive, we'd probably be spending the night) to see Tool, my very favorite band, but quarantine isn't going to be lifted enough for that to happen until the day before the concert at the earliest. At least that one will probably be rescheduled instead of completely cancelled like camp. If not... well, I just hope we at least get our money back for our tickets, because they weren't cheap.

So I guess my actual plans are going to be just to carry on as usual like nothing ever happened, just sitting around browsing the Internet and playing games on my iPad like I did both during and before quarantine.

Me neither, excluding parties of relatives and even then the invation goes to my parents and they're told to "take the kids along if they want to come." And yes, I'm an adult.

I'm renting a tiny studio now, but am currently looking for a bigger place to buy. When I've found it and it's safe, I'll host a party. I was thinking of inviting a few people from my autism support group because to them I can directly tell that I want to practice entertaning. The only problem is if they're up for parties... surely some of them would be, especially if I make it only for the support group members.

Is there something that keeps you from having a party of your own? Since you're living on your mom's money right now, you could probably even afford to rent a place for a party.

If there's any summer family outings, I'd come just for that time.

As soon as I'm done being dragged around by multiple plans and parties of other people. Which may or may not include my own, no surprises if there are those who tries to set up a party for me twice. :|

A LOT of walking around in public alone. If the weather's good with a lot of time in my hands, I may go to another city alone.
A LOT of buying new stuff and chocolates 'cause the end of quarantine may hit or miss my birthday.
And a LOT of talk to certain people for the sake of reorganizing.

- To buy more smart casual clothes for job interviews and to wear at jobs in general.

- Apply for part time positions.

- To hang out with my friends in person. I've missed that, plus it will be my last year at University, so I'm bound to get busy and I'd like to make some new memories before things get too overloaded.

- I'd like to do some travelling with a friend / friends. Going on a day trip with friends in my twenties has been a dream of mine for a long time.

- To start dressing more how I want to dress.

- Learn how to cook more. I miss shopping for myself.

- At some point, I'd like to experience my first kiss.

- I hope my new flatmates are nice. Maybe we'll be able to hang out and complain about lessons together.

- When University is over and I've graduated; I'd like to learn how to drive.

- If places remain shut on my birthday, which many if not all probably will, I'd like to do something later in the year to celebrate turning twenty-one. Simply not celebrating such an age milestone just doesn't seem right.

These are great, Lost_dragon: all really valid goals. Good luck! :)

I had plans for the summer before the pandemic hit. It is all reserved and paid for. I hope they open the Canadian/US border by July. We will be doing a two week wilderness canoe trip in the Yukon. I hope.
