IDK. Maybe?
Can an NT fool a very good team? Again, IDK

Question is why would an NT want to fake autism and get the diagnoses?

Only a mentally ill person would do that. People who always fake diseases or disorders.

It a lot of places there aren't many benefits once you turn 18 and are classified as an adult.

That's true; I'm personally being recommended Social Thinking classes and an ASD-specific therapist (not sure what else yet) and I'm sure an adult could possibly get SSI or SSDI in the US if they're impaired enough or have comorbidities, but the resources for adults are greatly decreased.

There are a lot of strings attached to SSI benefits. Not so much with SSDI, but how do get SSDI benefits for autism if you have put in the 40 quarters of work? I know someone on SSI for a mental health disability and she said she gets money and government health insurance but the services went away when she became an adult.

I know some who do receive it but they may have gotten it based on bipolar, anorexia, BPD, OCD or some other dx.
