The party establishment isn't the same as the people who vote for the party. The sensible Republicans can't win without the far-right populists. The far-right populists have always existed even if they were less visible; their influence has grown because they need to turn out to vote for GOP candidates for them to win, previously they didn't need to turn out at the same rate because GOP candidates could pull a broader base of votes. Their influence won't vanish overnight just because the establishment types would like it to. They're going to continue to dominate right wing politics in the US because more of the US right agrees with those ideas than disagrees with them.

As people with ASD, we should research which country treats people with ASD best in the world,
and get everyone we know who has ASD to move there.

Which will likely gives us more rights, as if the number is greater, we are more likely to get noticed.

Political parties are obsolete replaced by a ever changing power elite, that includes politicians that have gain power through office, wealthy businessmen who have power through successful business, journalists who have power to control the masses with their perception manipulating propaganda, and famous celebrities, who have power of popularity.

Only the poles get six month long days and nights. The whole Baltic sea gets at least a bit of sun these days. When I moved here, I was fascinated with watching the midsummer sunset slide over the northern horizon into a sunrise, but this is the same latitude as Birmingham, Berlin, or Warsaw.

^yes, I know the poles only get six months of darkness. It was just laziness on my part. The point was that for me, it is dark way too long for me. :heart:

I've made two major moves, going about 5 deg. north both times. I only really noticed the second time, but more than the day length, which does not quite run from 9 to 5, I miss having the sun get over the house next door and in my windows. That's something to check on a new residence. When I worked nights after the first move, I got less light, and now, I still waste some daylight on naps when I need them. I do have some good full-spectrum lights, though. I met a woman from above the Arctic Circle who was really nostalgic for just having twilight on Christmas.

I saw the first couple of episodes of a show called "Tales From the Loop" that were filmed in Saskatchewan in Winter but the viewer is expected to believe the action takes place in Ohio. I find that hard to swallow because the angle of the sun in Ohio would be so much different than in Saskatchewan. BTW I couldn't continue with that show, it was too upsetting.
