In that case I'd better start using ellipses...I don't want to be a 'typical' Aspie writer.

Clueless2017, I think we'd much rather have you here.

I can't really compare WP to other venues, though. Despite studying computers in college and retiring twice from computers my Internet use is nonstandard. WP is, so far, my only social media use on the Internet--no Facebook, no Twitter, no other Bulletin Boards, etc. But, I like WP.

(And, yes, I use emojis and ellipses and dashes and a variety of BBcodes. And I am a guy formally diagnosed as ASD-1. I don't trust computers but I've thought they were fun toys since 1971 .)

You might like autismforums.com as well. I find the user base is a bit older and more experienced than on WP. I'm not trying to push you away, just suggesting you could get a broader range of input if you have a discussion on there too.

... ... ...

Thank you for your recommendation...I will think about it...

As to my use of dots...It is common in the legal profession to end our legal documents with dots...My writing is actually quite formal...So, here in WP, i use dots to make it more informal...And i shorten my sentences, not following proper grammar, to make these more informal...Anyway, now you know...

I will make sure NOT to use my favorite emojis with you here

Exactly!! !... :D... As we would say in the legal profession: GUILTY AS CHARGED...

Sorry. It just clicked! You work in the legal profession so you use "   " because you are used to doing things in triplicate!! ! (OK. I'm not really sorry. I should be but I'm not. )

Our employments shape us...I do count with a BA in Legal Studies and one decade in the profession...So, this explains my use of dots...As to doing everything in triplicates, i do this purposely for emphasis...

Muahahahahahahaha......! !!

Nah. It just happened that in my own case is a bit off because words and wording to me isn't natural.
So there's this pattern around my own posts, mainly reflecting my present state. Patterns of my posts, not simply words containing in my posts.

Translating nonverbal thoughts into verbal... Is NOT always easy.
As far as I noticed, whenever I ended up using a lot of ellipses and smileys, it's usually this weird more nonlinear, abstract, and indications of several emotional signal interferences like narrative between my thoughts.

When it's not, it's usually more linear like.
The more linear and concrete, and it can get more concise.
Less emotional like interferences of thought. "I don't 'feel like' putting smileys or trailing off" state.

But this is just me.

My dear Joe, remember ASD is a spectrum...You and i are of like-minds...So you must be as close to a neuro-typical as it is possible for an Aspie...How this could be possible, i cannot explain...I am of the belief that humans in general have much more in common than we know...If only we would listen to each other with a more open-mind...

Post Script: Did you get my PM???...I reached out to you a few days ago...Just to say hello...

... Sure. My mom types at such way -- she's a social net addict; I see how she types.

And it just happened that my mom's also involved with local law enforcement. Surely that supports the theory.
But she already types that way before she got that career. :o

I dunno.
