Yes, I see she is stimming.

She is a lovely lovely person, and a fantastic singer.

Wow, I didn't know the movements that she was making in that video was considered stimming. I do the same ones all the time. Now, I'm feeling a little embarrassed, wondering how that I must look to other people.

I like these threads if they contain videos in them so we can all look, and discuss our opinion.

Which means even in a still photo you can often notice that stereotypical aspie characteristic.

Like here in a non-posed image of her.

YIKES, are you SURE??? I HAVE to say it. I thought STUPID! I have seen a FEW with hands like that. All of the sudden, I realized something.....

My left hand was resting on my left leg. The pinky side lying right on my leg. GUESS WHAT!! !! EVERY finger was just like this photo. The two two thumb side digits out, with the thumb touching. The others about even but lower than the other two. HECK, I don't have to describe it, it was just like the photo. Then again, maybe this is just a NORMAL relaxed position.

In the first video of her singing, she was swaying all around and they got very still when she started to sing; in the second, all of her movements were coupled to the song - either rhythmically or as a kind of draw-out signal to keep it going. It looked like she was conducting/dancing to her song at the same time as she was singing it.

I can see how the first might be... well, no, maybe not. Heavens, is that really considered odd? I would have just said she was shy and/or nervous. Is that really what people would call stimming? It's one of the signs I read about and say, 'no, I definitely don't do that,' but if what she's doing is stimming then, yeah, I do it too.

Gods, what a tallented person she is. I only have one album - now I want to run out and buy a couple more.

I don't think that it's a normal position, for some reason. I've never seen someone with their arms like that, just walking down the street. However, I have noticed that I often walk around with my arms in that position, when I am feeling overwhelmed.

But I don't think we should jump to conclusions. I mean, it's likely, considering her stimming, but that could be caused by many other things, not just AS.

My arms WERE in a similar position, but I was sitting. When I am standing, I have my arms folded, or my hands together front or back, or in my pockets. My hands always have a purpose and adopt THAT position. With Windows, one of my hands may have a time when it has NO job, and THAT is when I noticed this odd position.

Its not the precise way she is holding her hand as much as the simple fact in the few non-posed pictures you can find of her you can spot her hands in "odd" positions. No science to it but our brains are acutely aware of anomalies like this. Which is one reason and aspie will appear odd to others.

I hold my hands like that in alot of pics of me.
I also stim alot on stage, especially if I don't have a musical instrument in my hands.

I have always loved Sinead...i never once until now thought she might be on the spectrum...then again, I haven't seen a whole lot of footage of her.

i find it credible. the whole anti-pope drama was very aspie, very tactless, very socially unaware. i hadn't really considered her before as an aspie. didn't she do a song called the 'emperor's new clothes'? cos that whole the' emperor is naked' thing is very aspie.
