Never had anyone use that exact phrase on me.

I did have a college room mate who said to me "you are SO messed up that I dont think that you will EVER get straightened out".

Pretty close.

About six months after he and I had gone our separate ways the guy who said that was found by his subsequent room mate in their common apartment....dead from suicide by shot gun.

So...make of that what you will. :?

My NT sister and I have been receiving help for our Generalized Anxiety Disorder.

She was diagnosed with GAD four years ago and our mom has been in denial
about it ever since.

Example: "Oh great, now both of my kids have mental health issues!"

I’ve often been asked “Do you see a therapist?” But that’s it.

The problem with "help" or "therapists" is that they DON'T ACTUALLY "help". They just ask you stupid rhetorical questions, like "how did that make you feel?" or parrot back your statements back to you. Or worse: troll you, mock you, pretend not to know what you're talking about, or brush you off.

Sadly, NTs don't understand all this. They either know how to navigate therapy like professionals thanks to their inborn social skills, or they don't need therapy in the first place. So they push it onto us. But I said it before, and I'll say it again: THERAPY DOESN'T WORK. That is, it doesn't work unless you intuitively know EXACTLY what your therapist wants to hear and the exact moment to say it to that quack.
