Argh! How long does a book have to be in print before you don't have to worry about spoilers?

I PMed you :).

I didn't want to post any spoilers in case some people haven't finished yet...it always takes me a couple of weeks to get through a book.

I just finished number 7, and am feeling terrible. I actually feel physically sick about it all.

Aye. 'tis a sad event. But Rowling is writing something else apparently, so hope remains.

Yeah I'm bummed about the whole thing too. Maybe this sounds pathetic, but once the last two movies come out there is nothing exciting in life to look forward to. Unless something new comes out, but Rowling's is the only books I have gotten excited over in years. I don't understand why she won't continue the books on into Harry's adult life. He can still have wild adventures as an auror even with you know who being dead. Somebody told me she had said she might write more HP books, but it looks like she won't the way she already spelled out everything in the last few pages. SHe could write the Adventures of James, Albus and Teddy.

I thought the OotP movie was the best so far. I was bummed with the GOF movie and afraid they would screw the 5th one up too. But I have to say it was done fairly well. I like the way it was filmed. I loved Sirius' character in the film. I liked the way they did Grimmauld Place too even though it looked completely different than what I had pictured in my mind. And Kreacher was so ugly he was adorable.

Back to the book -am I the only one who got more worked up about Hedwig's end than any of the humans that died? Is that an Aspie trait?

My fave book was OoTP. Deathly Hallows was ok, but wished they could have spent their 7th year in Hogwarts castle. I have a strong fascination for the castle itself and also Hogsmeade.

You should talk to Benji, at least on ASDGESTALT. She felt the SAME way!
Maybe its the WAY he died, and with no real involvement. It was easy to visualize and involved, so maybe it just seemed the most real/innocent.

What is ASDEGESTAL? I just don't like that Rowlings had to kill Hedwig. She killed about everyone Harry ever loved and then to do in his trusty companion. But I think Harry was negligent. If Hedwig had been told ahead of time where to meet them she could have flown to the Burrow hours earlier instead of being trapped in her cage and right there in the thick of the battle. In book 3 Hedwig knows without being told to meet Harry at the Leaky Cauldron after he runs away.
