I am a straight Aspie but I do believe one can be gay and have Aspergers as long as a certain balance is established from gay Aspie to gay Aspie.

lol same here....
I don't see how anyone could believe that being gay and being aspie are contradictory (although some members of this site have made the occasional bigoted statement that implied such), or why there's even a question about it in the first place.

of the few aspies I know in person,
all are male...two are gay (one transgendered)
and one sorta swings both ways.

Of course you can. I am Aspie, Tourettic and obsessive compulsive. I am 19 years old, never had a relationship and I STILL don't know which way I am!

Sexuality is on a continuum. NTs are more likely to remain in the same place on that continuum throughout their lifetime, or at most only move a couple of times. Aspies on the other hand, are more likely to slide up and down freely, as often as they feel like. Of course there are also many Aspies who like to spend a lot of time at the asexual end of the continuum :) .

Well I'm gay and I may slide toward the asexual end, but never the hetero! I doubt asperger's has anything to do with sexuality, only perhaps on it's outward expression.

I am willing to bet however that if the extreme male brain theory is true that there will be a lower number of gay men on the spectrum than the general population and the opposite will hold true for lesbians. This is on my list of studies to do at some point. (I'm a researcher)

I don't think you need a 'male brain' to be a lesbian of a 'female brain' to be a gay man. There are a lot of feminine lesbians and non-feminine gay men, and the opposite for straight people. It's mostly stereotypes and generalisations that give the idea that any guy who's a bit feminine in whatever way must be gay. It's true of some, but not all.

Kinda like..there seem to be plenty heterosexual female Aspies (despite the extreme male brain thingy)...if I am, I am one...albiet I am alot less girly that alot of normal girls and I have "masculine" hands and whatnot...

Don't you mean that you hate to ask, but are friends electric? ;)

I like some of his stuff. Haven't listened to much of his newer songs though. Although I like a couple. My mum used to listen to him when I was a kid.

yes you can because i am and i dont find it hard to be both i mostly hang out with gay men because they dont care what i have. women can be pretty hard to get to know sometimes especially if they happen to be gay its all a hunt for a partner.

True, but research has shown that on a neurological level that gay men have brains that appear to be more female.
