I'm not overly keen on being touched, shaking hands with strangers is not somthing I like but with a lover I can cuddle and be touched by him for hours on end.

I hate one and crave the other, how do I vote?

I for one chose the middle option... I don't feel the need for human touch but I welcome it.
Plus it can sometimes make me feel more at ease... I always look for 'proof' see... if that makes sense...

I hate touching anybody but Flakey...or i guess signifigant others in general.
But with him, I am very cuddly.

With other people who I am not as comfortable around, I tense up and get very nervous at the prospect, and I don't like it at all.

I dont like people touching me. In fact, the only people who i feel comfortable touching me is close friends and my husband, as well as family. Its just too close for me to feel ok with it. Its weird, if i feel like the person is enough of a friend i am ok, but mostly female, i dont like to be touched at all.

The fact that my last girlfriend (who was an Aspie) didn't really care for touching was very difficult for me, and is partially why that relationship didn't work out.

It is the unexpected touch, poke, or tickle that sets me off. Some people when they see that I
don't like being poked go out of their way to "push my buttons".

I can handle a quick, social hug/kiss with family and friends, but I don't feel comfortable being cuddled or stroked except by my boyfriend.

The correct answer for me was missing: "Depends on the human".

Same here, and it also depends on the context of the touching.

For example, if it's a pat on the back, then I welcome it from pretty much anyone. If it's a romantic-type touch, then that kind of touch is limited to a romantic partner.

Yeah, yeah. I get it. My poll didn't come out right.

But elaborate to your heart's content though. :D

The best human touch I ever got was from the Deaf-Blind. They gave me hugs when:
1) first meeting up
2) as part of emotional support in between conversations
3) just before parting

They had told me they wanted to stroke my hands, but at the time I did NOT consent to that because it would've reminded me of my brain surgery (my parents stroked my hands on the way into the Operating Room). By now it would NOT remind me of my brain surgery. It would feel very good.

The way the Deaf-Blind touch my hands to read my sign language is another form of human touch that feels good to me. It is very reassuring.

I really crave human touch. The Deaf-Blind give the very best of human touch. I miss the Deaf-Blind a lot! They were my BEST FRIENDS in 2003 :D. I am NOT away from them by my own choice. They just want nothing to do with me. That is a damn shame :(. I just wanna get back with the Deaf-Blind ASAP. They are VERY FUN PEOPLE :D!
