Thats true as well. In some people all smoking weed does is make you paranoid and uncomfortable, but on the other hand people like me dont feel that way unless we have a really good reason to. I also feel better about myself and more confident while in that state of mind too.
Oh, and meditation works better than all those things, but for a beginner like you it will be very hard so it will be easy to give up on it. I remember I used to do it a lot. I pretty much gave up on it now again lol, but one of these days I think Ill start doing it again.
