Thankyou. Those are both good ideas. Part time will add to the pot without risking the benefits, and cash in hand could do the same.
I understand your worry. I haven't worked in like 16 years partly because I'm on Social Security Disability. It's extremely difficult for me to find work with my disabilities & lack of skills. Plus I don't wanna screw my Disability benefits up. When I was working I was on SSI so when I earned too much I just wasn't eligible for any SSI that month but of coarse SSDI is a bit different. At the three jobs I've had, part-timers were scheduled 30/35 hours a week & full-timers were scheduled 35/40 a week. The state I live in now has a higher minimum-wage, I think about $15 which is good for many workers but some members of my girlfriend's family screwed their Disability benefits up working part-time. It was more risky on the months where they got three paychecks because they were paid biweekly like I was when I was working. Getting paid for one hour over the limit in one month cost her brother to miss a whole month of his disability check on top on a bunch of BS hassle & stress dealing with Social Security.Me & Cass are having lots of financial issues & our gov benefits are NOT keeping up with the real inflation. We have LOTS of debt. I think my mental & physical health would be a bit better if I was working some instead of just staying home stressing. I don't know how to go about finding a job I can do that won't schedule me too much. Also when I was looking for employment in Louisiana I was putting in lots of apps & was extremely lucky to get an interview. I tried reaching out to Vermont Voc Rehab(whatever they're calling themselves) & never heard back. I was in Louisiana Voc Rehab for a couple years & all they did for me was tell me that I needed to keep asserting myself & call after submitting apps. I tried calling & got told that the employers received hundreds of apps & didn't have time to go through them all

Are you needing to work for money or is the paycheck irrelevant to your mind? The reason I ask is that volunteering can be an amazing way to satisfy the minds need to feel useful and happy. The nice thing about volunteering is that it is a different social dynamic in which you have much more control and emotional freedom.
