Do you feel stressed around fast-talkers?
I used to think I have that problem until I met a very fast talking professor. I absorbed every word of his every lecture. And his class was late in the day, too. The difference is interest. If I'm very interested in the subject then I won't miss a word. However when people talk about cows and fences (most of our relatives are farmers) I had to try very hard to stay focused.
I think the autistic brain follow speeches that are logical and reasonable. A lot of people talk randomly and it's much harder to follow, even if they didn't talk fast.
