Cat issues....
We have a cat that doesn't like to be held and only likes petting on his terms--when, where, and how long. I've had him since he was two weeks old--he's been well loved and has received good care in our home. Not being cuddly is simply his temperament. Just because he's a cat doesn't automatically mean that he likes cuddling, wants petting, likes everyone in the home equally, etc. I work towards teaching my children to respect this in him just as they want others to respect differences in themselves.

...she basically tortured the cat. Now, she does not, but of course the cat does not want anything to do with her. However, DD does not take no for an answer. She holds out her hand, and when the cat turns away, she attempts to grab and hold, with the end result being the cat runs away. When she does capture her, you can see the terror in the poor things eyes. DD has basically beat it into submission, and now it just waits for her to let her go.
It's animal abuse. You must protect that poor cat; she needs a new home, now.
