I need to take a pic of my new 'do sometime soon. Right now, it's dyed blue-black with some purple bits in front, and cut into a sort of messy pixie/emo/1965 thingie - the back's all chopped short, as are the sides and most of the top, with a couple of thick, angled chin-length pieces in front. My hair's naturally wavy/frizzy which I loathe, because humidity wreaks havoc on any style I try to maintain. When I use my hot flat iron on it and put a mess of goop in it, though, it looks *awesome*. :D \m/

LOL! Sorry, vetivert, but I'm just a bit too tall to qualify as a messy pixie - messy elf, maybe? Heehee! :P

OMG your hair is almost like mine. My hair is really wavy, and needs to be somewhat longish in order to just to keep from being all over the place. It's also really thick. I often looked forward to the day when it would fall out and I would become bald, but I'm 31 and it hasn't even started yet so I'm losing hope in that.

My hair is black, but my beard is reddish. That is thanks to the fact that my father is Mexican and my mother is Irish. I assume that if my hair did thin out then it would probably become more reddish like my beard. Unfortunately you can't dye black hair without bleaching it. I would love to have green hair, but that's just too much of a hassle.

My hair is natural brown (not dyed) with a few faint gray threads appearing at the temples. Finally. I refuse to dye it. I've been waiting decades to look "old."
It's shoulder length, straight, with long bangs parted in the middle that kinda wing out over the sides of my glasses.

Like this (I hope it lines up as intended):

My hair . . .

Dark brown. I keep it rather short and put gel in it to spike it up. Recently I got it cut and the barber made it waaaay to short so now i look bald.

Oh well, it grows fast.

I only get it cut every season or so, so I have her cut it short and I let it grow into a ungodly mess. When it reaches ungodly mess stage, my parents let me know, "Nathan, you need a haircut!" and I go, "Ok."

I like to part my hair in the morning, but it tends to become a mess in less than a hour.

In the summer my hair bleaches easily and I look more like a beach boy

In winter it gets a really dark brown. When I was younger my hair was just like scoots (almost white) but as I get older my hair is darker and darker every year.

WInter pic; some blondness is visable but no where as much as summer.

Generally I wear my hair down. It's medium-longish, dark brown, no bangs, sometimes straight, sometimes wavy, sometimes curly, but most often a combination. Getting my hair to look "right" by NT standards is very hard for me to do, as I don't understand how to tell if it looks good or bad. Sometimes I pull the front parts back if I want it out of my face, sometimes I put it in braids or pigtails, sometimes it's in a ponytail. but mostly it's down.

I forgot to mention my rainbow of facial hair! Every color possible is there (except gray/silver).

My side burns are dark brown/black. That hair on my cheeks (name?) is black. My neck hair is black. My upper lip is black/blonde (odd, I know). My beard is a masterpiece of contradictionary facial hair colors. Mostly, it's brown and blonde. But once you get up close, you can't help but notice how much red is in it. Now, just try picturing me going without shaving for a week. Oh, and the patch under my lip is black/brown.

my hair is very fine... but i have a LOT of it, so it's quite puffy. the only times it's reasonably smooth are when ive just come out of the hair salon and they do their professional straightening deal with the flat iron and blow dryer and such. heh. try as I may to replicate their techniques it never turns out as good! i usually throw it up in a ponytail because of that but im told i look better with it down. my hair used to be halfway down my back (medium brown... POOP brown as i like to call it) but i cut it to about shoulder length cause it was too hard to deal with! side parts for the winnnn

My hair is thick, silky, a bit on the long side, and naturally dark blonde. The ends are a dark reddish brown from a dye-job two years ago. Over the past few years, my hair has also been light brown, scarlet red, dark purple, pink, blue, and magenta. I'm going to dye it magenta again fairly soon (I hope).

Sometimes I like to do this with it:

did'nt expect such detail in the replys...thats why I love this board. Anyway, could I see picks of the pink dreads. sounds interesting

To go into more detail...my hair is as thick and nappy as can be. Its jet black, and about the texture of a buffalo. I wear long sideburns that connect into a thin beard that lines up with my jaw, a soul patch beneath my bottom lip, and a small mustache. when I can afford it, I like to keep it well trimmed, as in grown hair bumps are quite painful, but it gets expensive getting this stuff trimmed weekly, because my hair grows like a weed!

Curse you! My hair grows soooooo sllloooowwwllllyyy!! Has since I was a kid, It's fine (as in, not thick) as well. I no longer despise how it looks since it's finally gotten to my shoulders, but I still wish it would grow faster and thicker. ((And yeah, I've tried tons of different shampoos and rpoducts with limited success for making it look thick, as well as hair drying techniques- who has the time?))
