SMELL (I can't smell)

i have nearly zero sense of smell. The only smell that Im sure of, even blindfolded is rubbing alcohol, smelling salts, tear gas, and.. thats about it.

Although I kinda "feel" a real good or a real bad odor.

Really bad odors make me feel claustraphobic and unable to breathe too well.

But fragrant things make me feel light and breathe deeper. Especially the lavender fragrance hair shampoo. I cant smell it but I feel light when taking a bath.

Is not that I don't smell, but I'm not very good doing it. But, as a child I had an extremely sense of smelling that maybe I lost when growing up, ...

I used to be hipersensitive to smells, but after many years smoking I lost most of this capacity and by now I can only notice strong smelts.

Well, there are much more bad smelts than good ones.

I'm very hypersensitve to smells usually.

Right now I have a cold and my food tastes like cardboard.

I used to have a good sense of smell. Then, for a few years, I had no sense of smell (I'm not sure why, actually); I couldn't smell... anything. I remember we did a lab with formaldehyde, and I couldn't smell it at all (which was a blessing). Now I can smell again; my sense of smell is quite good now, actually.

I have no sense of smell, either. It's called "anosmia", if you're interested. But my sense of taste is fine, which some people find unusual.

I used to be extremely sensitive to smell. Then at some point in my 20's I got allergies and I can only smell certain smells.
But I definitely think that it's possible to be hyposensitive to smells because of some kind of sensory processing problem.

Years ago I could smell things just fine. Then it went away. I thought it was because I smoked. (2 packs a day for 26 years, 3 when I was married, do better w/ just my kids) When I quit on Jan 25th (took the Chantix...better living thru chemistry, it worked painlessly) I thought my sense of smell would return. So far it hasn't. I have been punched in the nose so I wonder if thats it.
