Are you sensitive to the tone of peoples voices?

I am, but have a problem regulating my own tone. My 9 y/o AS daughter does too. She constantly talks down to me, is short with me, and doesn't even realize that she's talking in a patronizing, know-it-all tone. If you use the wrong tone with her, she freaks out and will melt-down- she misinterprets loud(trying to get her attention) with angry and she's very sensitive to anger.

I'm bad with voice inflection too and AS hubby often misreads what I say because of my tone and inflection. My daughter does too. It's one of the biggest communication problems we have as a family.
