Internet Trolls & Cyber Bullying
Well, I certainly miss him. He provided me with laughs every single day, and at a time when I was adjusting to my diagnosis and feeling down. His insanity helped me more than sympathetic advice ever would have. Every time I started feeling sorry for myself, I'd read one of his blistering posts and just burst out laughing in shock because he was so on-target. He prevented me from wallowing in self-pity, and that was a blessing for me. So tell him I'm completely disgusted with him for getting himself banned and subsequently opening WP up to whine-fests galore. I know of a few recent dramas on here that he'd have thwarted in the most spectacular fashion.

You can tell him yourself, he posts on Intensity and Zomg (PM me if you want links to either). He was going to get banned eventually, i suppose we just need someone else to fill his shoes...

What if they cracked an unshelled pistascho nut with their rotten tooth and it became infected and the were in total misery?

Then i would hope there is a good absess under there to explode...
WP doesn't even feel like the same place I joined back in February. It's really disappointing, because I used to love it here (trolls and all).
To be honest, I've heard the above statement in each and every forum that I've ever been on. Every one of them. There would be long, long, threads devoted to "why has the forum changed?"" Why is there [this kind of people] joining now when it used to be just [this kind of people]. Can we somehow manage the posers, and imposters?" I can't say why it happens, but it always seems to.
^You're right. I guess it's the very nature of internet forums. People come and go, some are sincere and some not, etc. Guess there's not much anyone can do about change, but it's something a lot of us struggle with, especially when something started out really good and then goes downhill.

well i can speak from a cyber bullys point of view, when you get owned irl and get online and have high verbal skills its a weapon. as for being a troll ive been acused of being one but i dont think i purposefully bait people into an argument, i more take issue with an already exiting issue, and then go from there

Yep. That's what I meant above about the definition of a troll being very hazy. I think I have a different definition than some other people's. Was Kosmonaut considered a troll? I used to literally choke with laughter at some of his posts - he knew how to "take the piss" as the Brits like to say. I know he offended a lot of people, and he finally ended up going too far. But seems to me that folks like him kept WP from turning into a self-pitying haven for NTs, which is what it's now becoming.
Kosmo is a great guy, though he probably went a little too far for this site. You are right about what WP is slowly turning into, a haven for f**** up NT's and whiney aspies who spend their days writing threads saying they feel suicidal because a pistascho nut hit their head and so on. Trolls tend to help clear out these sort of people, so they can go and wallow in their depression elsewhere.
Whiners and trolls have one thing in common... they are boring many of them simply do not know how to
occupy their minds constructively. As for some the more vicious trolls: "Do not cast your pearls before swine", your attention
is what these bastards thrive on. Do not feed them.

I would disagree with you there. Whiners are always boring, where as a good, intelligent and witty troll can be highly entertaining. And unseat some of boring whiners as another pleasent side effect. Vicious trolls are often good to feed as well, depending where you are.

I admit to being utterly shocked to hear several (AS) people here admit to engaging in such behaviors. I suppose everyone has a need for some level of attention - even those of us on the spectrum, but I never understood the "I'll take any attention I can get" mentality. I've always avoided being on the radar at all. Maybe it's the anonymity of the internet that provides the courage for these otherwise cowardly individuals. Perhaps being at the mercy of other bullying has given them the desire to try on the other guy's hat, so to speak, and take a crack at cyber bullying to see what it felt like. I don't know, but there's no excuse for it, regardless of the reason.
I can honestly say, having been the victim of all kinds of bullying throughout the years, that nothing disgusts me more than an internet troll. I have a passionate, vehement hatred for the mentality that these people possess.
I have a suggestion. If you want attention so badly, have the testicular fotitude (or female equivalent) to go public. That's right, go streaking or sing karaoke naked. Paint yourself in ketchup and go to the ER. At least that way they appropiate people will find you, put you someplace safe so your head problems can be dealt with accordingly, and spare the rest of us from having to be bothered with your stupidity.
Maybe you need to reconsider what your perspective of an internet troll is. Trolls are often highly intelligent, in fact some of them are probably a damn sight brighter than yourself. The thing with highly intelligent people is that the get bored more easily, so occasionally they need to brighten up the more boring of the threads. Support sites tend to be full of such threads, hence why they get trolled. In certain cases, the help that these people need is probably way better provided by a good troll.
You're a troll and you are not very intelligent. Just pointing that out.

It really depends on the situation.
In WrongPlanet, trolls would be bad since the forums don't need people boasting about how great they are.
In many other sites, trolls can be good because the community is selfish and/or immature and needs someone to remind them of it.
And WP hasn't become "selfish and/or immature" recently?? Maybe a good troll could have prevented this clusterfk, or at least made it funny. I'm pretty sure if a guy had treated a female poster the way ERITVO got treated by these women, we'd have never heard the end of it around here.

Ive got plenty of bits of paper and a circle of friends that prove my intelligence level. I would like to take the time to point out you are about as intresting and intelligent as a wet teaspoon. Run along.
