I don't like when people get in the way of what I'm trying to do or take to long to do something. I also don't spend allot of time with my peer group because I feel their converstational topics are shallow and lack substance. One of my favorite people to talk to right now is an old Brisith professor who has the office next to the one I work in. I'll go over to have tea with him and he'll tell me about what England was like during WWII. We also enjoy discussing poetry and gardening over lunch. I like trying to copy his accent and he enjoys laughing at my bad accent.

lol that professor sounds like fun!

He's absoluetely great. I don't have a single class with him but I see him more often than most of his students. Today he wanted to play my Nintendo DS because his granddaughter wants one and he enjoyed Pokemon for over an hour. Its really fun listening to him "curse" in a gentlemenly English way for "the bloody Pokemon to get in the bloody ball". He was so impressed he's bringing me special chocolate "biscuits" his wife makes if I'll let him play some more tomorrow.

I strive to not listen... I always have my headphones in and music on when I am out generally, or I end up rolling my eyes at some of the things I hear. I don't much like listening to voices anyway unless it is my own :P

I try and avoid listening, although that's impossible...

It just seems like endless chatter. Empty . Totally meaningless to me. I know it has meaning to those involved, but not to me. It's painful.....

I try not to judge because it is judgement that defeats us.

A lot of people just talk for the sake of talking. I hate it when I'm with a group of people and all they do is make stupid comments or gossip about people and then laugh and carry on for no reason. It’s especially annoying when I know they are smart people who are capable of interesting discussion but purposefully choose to talk about humdrum crap.

NTs often blabber on about the most boring crap and think they are funny or clever. If you ever go to a restaurant or bar and there’s a table of rowdy people you should listen to the pattern. One person will talk, then another will say something, then everyone will erupt in loud obnoxious laughter. It’s almost rhythmic, like it reminds me of noises monkeys might make. I’m always left wondering WTF they find so funny. I don't know, mostly I just don't get it.

Oh Blimey!! ! The stupid things they discuss!! ! "Oh did you see this movie? Oh my, it was quite good, wasn't it. Oh I love the bloke that starred in it. Oh, he's a genius, isn't he?"

I always want to say, "MY ARSE" That movie was so bloody stupid, my pet rabbit could have written the bloody screenplay!! ! And the star will be gone next month when you're ooohhh and ahhing over some new moron!!"

I like to go to movies alone and shop alone when I go shopping too.

I am convinced that there is some whole level of communication going on that I just can't pick up (like some sort of esp)and that is where the real substance is. All the blather and nothing conversations are just the vessel for it. That would have to be it. They couldn't possibly all be that uninteresting.

thats a good theory. anyway the conversations that drive me bonkers are when they just sit and whine and then tear someone who is not in the room to pieces. ie "I hate my job and the girl who sits next to me is a total b***h" then said girl walks in and they act all nice to her. grrrrrr.
I am sure it is not just NT's who do that but it would be mostly them.

This kills me, because I have known people like that, even some of my close family members will talk trash about someone but when they are around they act like they like them. Makes me wonder what they have to say about me when I am not around.

I hate people who go on about how successful their grown kids are, knowing that I'm unemployed. That used to happen to me, when I used to work out wit my next door neighbour and her rich friends. They would go off saying, "He's this and she's that." I don't work out with her, or hang off with her well-off friends, anymore.
