I don't remember what it was-all that I remember is that there was this counselor that came to our home and later I had to go for "brain wave" tests. I was smart, probably have Asperger's-I was a defiante dork in junior and senior high, in college and in much of my working life. My parents are gone, I was an only cihld. I asked my therapist, she didn't have a clue either. It's been bothering me because I wish I knew what happened. BTW, the school year involved was 1967-68

I think most of the time parents think they will worry their child uneccessarily, if they are young and go in for a test like that. Like, that they'll worry they might have whatever they're testing to see if they have, and it's not worth getting them upset if they might in fact not have whatever it is. Most of the time, it doesn't work, since kids are naturally anxious when they see a bunch of wires and stuff getting attached to them.

I think parents should realize that children are much more aware than they give them credit for. That it might be easier in the long run to try and explain what is happening, rather than put a mystery behind it so that when the child is older, it is like a bug in their subconcious over what happened & why.

Thanks for all your thoughts. It could be that I was showing some signs of being trans and in the late 60's that was something that probably wasn't, well it was a very different time.
