What is a bong hit - how many to the gram, at what strength?

A bong hit is smoking with a water pipe, mine is a nice glass 2 footer.
I would estimate 6-9 bong hits per gram.
And I smoke only the most potent available. As I live in Southern California the weed here is very strong. I used to grow my own usually, otherwise the cost can be prohibitive.

How many days until 2008?

thanks - that sounds a little heavier that the way i smoke - which is to roll pure, stubbing it out between 1-2cm hits. Sometimes ill dust it with ice-hash which requires extreme caution 8O - a bit of a reckless method really, but ive never been a fan of pipes (dont like the thought of inhaling spent butane)

As far as tobacco goes (and psychological addiction in general) there is a world of difference between 'giving up' and 'stopping'.
'Giving up' can take many years of being pushed & pulled between opposing forces. 'Stopping' happens in an instant.

Therein lies the secret to permanent and resolute abstinence imo.

I tryed smoking cigs at the bar, or outside i should say cause everyone else was smoking them, i must say i never could understand how anybody could smoke them, i smoekd, in my lifetime about 2 packs worth of cigs and they were sooo gross the very thought of smokeing them makes me sick, i suppose everyone is different tho.

I smoked weed for many years to fit in, it was a social crutch, so whenever i needed to chill out at a party, or gathering, or just with a friend or 2, i would bring weed and we would smoke, it would chill me out and allow me to get everyone stoned so hopefully i would make more friends or look cool in others eyes for blazin um up, heh.

I realize now pot makes me at least stupid, forgetful and I fear drain bramage and loss of my percious memories which i wanna take with me to the grave because they mean everything to me, without my memories i have no past...

Smoked cigarettes from the time I was 14 to the time I was 24. Always hated it. Actually, and I'm not joking when I say this, I VEHEMENTLY hated the smell of the cigarettes I was always surrounded by and one day I asked my mother how she could stand it. She told me that when you smoke you get used to it and it doesn't bother you anymore. So I started smoking. I was just screwing around, but in no time I was addicted. I always wanted to quit. Then I found myself pregnant (at 24) and I did quit. I've never touched another cigarette since and I couldn't be happier. I no longer smell like an ashtray, wonder if I put out my last cigarette, or have to spend tons of money on a filthy habit that is killing me.

My best advice is this: just decide to quit and do it. No "just one more", because you can just-one-more yourself the rest of your life. I was literally sitting on my front porch one day (no smoking in the house) and thought, "this could be my last cigarette". And I thought, "okay, one more hit"...then I realized what I was doing. I decided, "this IS my last cigarette, and I'm done NOW." I threw it into the yard and was done. I kept one in a pack in the drawer in the living room...it made me feel...safe. Like one was there if I needed it, I didn't have to go buy a whole new pack, and I wasn't technically all out either. A few months later I gave my husband the delight of letting him flush it! lol

It can be done.

I smoke and I definitely believe it's a coping mechanism. I don't like that I do and I know I either have emphysema, asthma or copd and I still keep smoking. It stinks and it's stupid but it's how I cope. I've actually been thinking a lot here lately about going ahead and quitting and just exercise....a lot, to try and fill the void. I think I need to or I'm going to be very sorry in the near future if I don't.
