i am ok with money. i used to be very dilligent & organized about it, but my ex-husband screwed up my credit, and blah, blah, so there's not much point now to doing that.

basically my only problem with money is that i need some/an income! :)

I am actually quite good with money...
I tend to "over save", not "over spend"

It's a good habit though.

I'm terrible with money and paying bills. I have to set up automatic payments or I'll just go out and spend the money and worry about the bills later. I've gotten myself into some major credit issues with that attitude. I'm getting better at it but it's definitely been a struggle.

Do I even need to answer this?

If there is money in my account/on my credit card, I spend it.

On books/manga/CD's/DVD's/clothes/college courses/dancing stuff/whatever.

Then when it comes to the bills, guess what, I have no money. So I draw out cash on the credit card & pay it into my bank account.

I am ashamed to say I have even resorted to those cheque-cashing places where they give you the money now but don't cash the cheque until payday (for a hefty fee of course!)

Have just remortgaged the house (again) and have to pay off the debts instead of spending the money.......aaargh!! !!

I wish all the stuff I collect was free!

I am excellent at budgeting $$. I am 25 years old and I own my home, have nice things, new car and excellent credit rating. I have a what I think is a strange way of dealing with finances/prep for the future. I have no account at any bank. When I had accounts I always for some crazy reason felt like I was not in control, and that it coul sometimes be hard to get money whenever i needed it, I lacked trust in the bank and finally feared that governemtn agencys and others could have access to my account records so I closed my accounts a while ago and now because I make enough to take care of myself, live comfortably, have things I want/need, pay all bills on time and finally occasioanlly have extra (usually during the summer time) to actually make an advance payment on debts like student loans, credit cards, car payment, or my home and appience payments. I have even on occasion advanced on utility bills (usually heat company during the summer) so by the time winter comes and im working part time, i have established an account with them and can soften the financial blow of heating my home.

I organize and plan ahead all of my finances using microsoft money and while some say its briliant, and others say its stupid, I personally feel its more fiscally efficent to pay all debts early and all cash left over on me (typically not much). This way since I dont save $$ or even have an account with the bank im not gettin taxed on it. Also, I feel I save more $$ paying some debts early and theirfore saving $$ on interest payments compaired to the interest incured from letting the bank use my money. Indeed I live check to check, but do well because I make my money as efficent as possible without relying on any bank.
