Some things are just beyond my control. Family issues, apartment stuff, animal rescue.... ya know. Things that compose life that are just not within the *off* button's realm but actually need to be dealt with. Like it or not, I'm still part of this world....for better or for worse....

Don't do phones!! !! As a kid I'd run from the phone and even now at work I leave the office if one starts to ring, pretend I was never in there. Can't understand what people want from me on the phone. Texting and email was made for me!

I've been known to go without for weeks at a time - at least on the receiving end. I'm still buffered - answering machine - and free will. Yeah that works too.

I wouldn't even bother with an answering machine. I'll know if someone called because my phone stores the missed calls. That's good enough for me.
