All I want is for Asperger's to be as understood and accepted as Autism.
I also sometimes get tired of having to explain what Asperger's is. I also want people to quit thinking that learning-disabled people are ret*d.

I would also like for people to stop presuming that people with Learning Disabilities are ret*d.

Personally, I just want to feel safe for more than a few minutes at a time . . .

In terms of AS, I want people to understand what it is like and realize that, despite the fact that we can do some pretty freaky things and don't experience the world like everyone else, it really does have some distinct benefits and that the word 'autism' isn't a bad thing - we are not all like Rainman . . .

I agree with you. I wish that people would get past the Rainman Block and start seeing us as the unique individuals that we are. :)

I just want to feel accepted as a wonderful person and unique indiviual in our society, to let people understand and know that we might not seem all as bad as they perceive us. I mean seriously, it's probably obvious (or not), but what is everyone afraid of. You know everybody is an individua in this society. Everybody is unique in their own special way. and for most of us in this group isn't AS just a small portion of the greater picture of which defines who we are as individuals? I don't know, maybe i'm not getting the whole picture, but that's how I feel.

I would also like people to realise that one doesn't just "grow out of" autism; that just because I have passed age 18 does NOT mean I suddenly found life so much easier.

I wish I could go back in time, whenever i wanted, to whatever point in life i wanted to go to, and re-live it, maby not even change anything, just go back and relive it.

I wish I could have childhood friends understand why i was the way I was, so they would not ostrisize me in high school, never to speak to me again.

I wish I could find a good girlfriend who would love me for who i was and vise versa.

Oh yes!! !! !! !! ! I long for that day! :)

In the meantime, I will settle for respect, acceptance, understanding, freedom, kindness, peace, and for all of humanity to HONOUR NEURODIVERSITY!

And in my wildest dreams, I want all (or maybe only most of) the NTs to go away and live on another planet  .

I want to be able to cross the monkeybars like most kids can, and climb up onto them. :)

I want respect, a bit of understanding, and for people to stop teasing me - even when they're doing it out of love, because they don't understand it doesn't register well.

I want to be left alone when I need to be, but I also want a friend to hang out with every other day, maybe, if only for a cup of coffee, a walk, I'd love a friend to take walks with, or a game of Uno or wii.

I'd love a wonderful boyfriend, but hey, I can dream :) One would probably get in the way of my routines.

I want a great career I love and could feel like there's nothing else I'd rather do.

In short, I want a place where I feel I belong.

This world free of Neurotypicals would probably be an interesting place to belong, but I think we're better with at least a few of them. :)

What I really want is one acceptable, final, immutable daily routine that takes into account my desire to contribute to society as well as my need to have a high degree of consistency of environment, duties, socialization levels, and time to myself to recharge.

Is that asking too much? :?

(when i talk about my own feelings, i'm told i sound either pitiful or pissed; if i come across that way, it is not my intent.)

my greatest desire would be to find real love, and have the feelings be reciprocated. i have had enough sh tty relationships full of full-fledged verbal assault, and various other kinds of abuse that i'm not going to bring into topic. i have heard plenty of times how i'm "pathetic", "like a small child", and "the dumbest person [i've] ever known". i've had enough of the "dee-dee-dee [meant as malicious, not humorous]", the "i can't say ANYTHING around you", and the remarks about "living in your little fantasy video-game world". for once i would like someone to actually take the time to learn a little bit about asperger's, and realize i am not the product of bad parenting or irresponsibility, i do try very f cking hard to function socially, i don't mean to talk about my interests so much or keep coming back to the same subject, i don't understand chit-chat...and lastly, it is important to realize i am actually highly intelligent [most people only acknowledge this if they are my classmates or professors; otherwise i am told repeatedly how i am lying]. i'd like to find someone who will not care for me simply based on the nt-esque facade i can only maintain temporarily...but rather, i seek someone who will love me for everything i am, even if i am a pathetic wretch at times. chasing the impossible, i know, but finding anyone even remotely close to this would be nice.

it would also help if i wasn't terrified of driving.....but that's a different story entirely.

Like a couple of previous posters I would like to go back in time and correct some of the mistakes I've made. That's not possible so................

I'd like them to find a cure for AS, a single one-time pill that I could take then be rid of the damn thing forever.

edal, EVERYONE makes mistakes - and that includes ALL NTs as well. If you were NT you would just make different mistakes.
