However, when I get a little stressed it seems like a downward spiral for me. Like, the kids are all being incredibly loud, the TV is loud, and my routine is off, because of something unexpected happened. Then, I notice all the clutter, the messes, and the things that I need to clean. It feels as if it's all closing in on me, like some kind of clutter claustrophobia. I guess you can call it a panic attack, or maybe a meltdown. It feels like I'm being physically assaulted by the messes everywhere. A few hours later I will calm down, and it all doesn't seem so bad, but at the time it feels awful, as if it were the end of the world.

This is me!! !! *sigh*

I like clutter. It helps remind me that people live here.

I feel uncomfortable when everything is clean. It's like I'm living in a hospital or something.

Or... it could be "acting out" against my military training? It was pretty bad (one kid tried to kill himself).

I hate clutter, I also collect stuff...I have so many rubbermaid storage bins in my attic and basement it boggles the mind. I go through it a couple times a year though and weed out stuff so it doesn't get out of control.

As for Christmas morning, a trash bag for wrapping is kept nearby and utilized frequently Confused

Whenever I am going someplace (socially) I always like my house to be clean before I go. I realize now why. I need to unplug after the social overstimulation, and I NEED the comforting feeling of my clean, tidy, ordered home when I return.

That's me! Before I go to bed at night the toys have to be put away, the dishes all washed, everything tidy. I don't like nick-nacks etc...or too much "busy" stuff when I enter someone's home makes me nuts. I clean when I'm stressed for focus, I clean when I'm angry to calm down, I clean when I'm sad to take my mind off of things. I clean alot and I actually "like" cleaning.

Your husband and myself would get along well it seems. I have absolutely no problem with clutter. I do not really pay any importance to organization. I do not value neatness. Maybe I will one day. I personally hope not :)
