I'm almost 22, but still need ID to prove I'm 18. Last night a girl who sometimes teases me about it was saying I look "boyish" and not manly.

Yes. Even though I am 47 people have told me I look like I am in my 30s. I have seen people my age who look considerably older than I.

I'm in my forties, and people say I look 20-35. 35 IS the consensus with 3 people giving that as an answer. One other hesitated to go any higher. FRANKLY, I think I look like I am in my 40s, but I don't think my appearance has changed since the late 20s! between 17 and the late 20s, the only visible change is I was balding.

Just to clarify how young I look, I'm 18 and people are always so shocked that I'm in college. On the day I left for college we had a celebratory dinner at a restaurant, and I was offered a kids menu - haha! On my first day of middle school,I was told I must have gotten on the wrong bus, and they wanted me to go back to the elementary school. And at my job, people always asked me if I was old enough to work. Once I speak though, people realize I'm older. I'm only 5 feet tall, which doesn't help. But my dad was like that and looks like 10 years younger than the 48 years he is, so I'm hoping for similar luck :)

I went to Chuckie Cheese for a friend's kid's party and when I was leaving, they told me they couldn't let me leave without a parent.

TWENTY-THREE!! ! I swear!! !

I actually look a bit *older* than my age. I will be 28 in December, and I look like I'm in my mid 30s.

I've always looked older for my age. Maybe due to the way I dress, but it's not a pleasant prospect to look older than you are -_-

definitely... I just turned thirty one on friday. the average age that strangers guess i am is 21. No complaints here. I look like a kid sometimes. As could have something to do with it. My husband is 31 also and looks like he is in his mid-twenties.

I'm 20, and my younger sister is 17, but everybody always thinks she is older than me! But like Quirky said, maybe I will have luck and look young when I am much older...

Somg, yes, yes, that's ME!

Funny things is that when I was younger, around 12 to 15 years old (I didn't change much during these three years), people always claimed I must be 17 or even 18 already.

Today I'm 19 and I'm constantly asked why I'm not in school, why I try to buy adult things etc.

"Shouldn't you be in school deerie?" Nah, not really.
"Alcohols for over-18s" Well, yeah, I am well over 18...
"You don't need to pay this, because you're still under 18!" I'm close to 20. It's three years ago that I was 17, but thanks for the offer.
Children from school try to pick on me, because they think I'm 8 oder 9grader. Horrible! I'm the most upperclassman you can be! I should have left school one year ago even!

This is so annoying. I didn't obviously age in three years.

Maybe I stopped aging altogether?

Wow, this happens to me, too. I'm 23 and in grad school, and when I come home from class, middle schoolers throw things at me and give me the middle finger.

On my 22nd birthday, a man at church asked me how old I was turning -- 13, 14? His jaw dropped when I said 22. I guess I appear to be in the same 8th-9th grade range. Yikes!

People are always shocked to hear that I am 32.
It partially has to do with my childlike behavior and partially I guess with my shortness. I tend to act younger than the 20-somethings who play at my venue...
But with all the crying I have been doing and all the xanax I have taken...coupled with the fact that I am kinda fat...I can't believe it.
I am feeling very old.

I look older than my age; invariably, at least once a month, someone asks if I go to the local college (I'm 16), and half of them won't believe that I'm not even a senior in high school yet. I've always been like that too; first day of Kindergarten, they sent me to the 3rd grade class because I looked like I should be there. (Fortunately, my mother was there and got me redirected quick enough.)

But this may be a genetic thing; my mother always looked older as well, and apparently my aunt did as well; they both look a lot younger than they are now. (So much so that we're often told that my mother can't be my mother, because she's "too young to have a daughter that old".)

On the other hand, my "normal" 14 year old brother is continuously mistaken as a 10 year old.
