Friends in Asperger's syndrome, the whole of the autistic spectrum, and other neuro-diverse conditions,

We have waited in the shadows for too long! The time has come for us to take what is ours and build a world that is better for us, better for all. We want only equal opportunity to enhance our lives, pursue our interests, and enjoy the companionship of others—without the prejudice and the calcification of facile normality. We hereby claim our human rights!

My friends, stifling convention is the enemy! We recognize in it the tool of NeuroTypical coercion and discrimination. We desire that people see the vivid splendor beyond their black-and-white reception. We demand that people no longer see the symptoms of our conditions as oddity but as sources of originality and glorious invention!

Today we consider founded a party to represent our common interests, a beacon for global change! Today we join our strength as the Party for Asperger's and Pan-Autistic Rights and Equality (PAPARE). We synthesize the best of the movements and ideas that have come before us and are neither of the left nor the right. We hold these truths:
  • Nuancism has superceded egalitarianism as an ideal to strive for. We believe everyone has a different pattern of strengths and weaknesses, and it befits us all to live in a society where everyone's talents are maximized and weaknesses buffered against. All personal misery and social strife comes friom the lack of nuancism in society.
  • Conventionality is the source of NeuroTypicalist strife. Our differences make holding conventional attitudes, beliefs, and goals unlikely; but we do not feel this is sufficient cause for prejudice and fear. To overcome this, we must smash mass media and replace it with something better.
  • NeuroTypicalism must be fought at an early age. Bigotry starts early, so we must educate children about fairness and respecting the differences of others.
Who of you is brave enough to join us?

The thing that disturbs me is that this has an earmark of fanaticism. " we must smash the mass media" "NeuroTypicalism must be fought" Isn't it much better to respect the diversity of all humanity(and this means respecting the diversity of Neurotypicals
as well as Aspies)? Let's face it. There are some jobs that Aspies aren't going to perform very well. How many of us could be hired by a company as an outgoing live wire salesman? Most likely not very many. I sure as heck wouldn't be able to. Diversity that is one-sided is not diversity
