I believe this issue has been fixed. You'll also notice that the ignore button is gone. This is a result of the fact that the ignore feature was causing the problem.

I feel extremely stupid for not realizing this sooner.

Let us know when this is set up. I can't send very much, but it's definitely in my interest to keep this place running as smoothly as possible. I may not be a team of programmers, but hopefully I can help a bit.

oh no, no more ignore button!

I think the issue of making this a subscription site has been brought up before, I know I've brought it up. I think you would need to alter the constitution as it would be a different entity.

I never used the ignore button, but it still caused a problem for me when I didn't notice that I hit it by accident before. A couple of weeks ago, I discovered I had ElfMan on ignore (by accident) when I accidently hit the ignore button instead of the quote button on another post.

Yes, alex, let us know about that PayPal account when it's up. I think I'd be able to send a couple bucks a month I hope (subject of course to crappy financial situations that might arise).

Do you have Interac Email Transfers in the USA yet? That's a great way to send someone money via the internet without needing to give PayPal your credit card number.

Annoyed? I freaked. The thought of a future without WP gave me a panic attack.

Constitution? I didn't know WP had one. It's not like it's a business or something. As far as I know, Alex is a benevolent god-like being who has the right and ability to do anything he wants with this site, and I just have to trust him to do no evil with the information we give him.

I would not like to see it become a subscription site because there will be people who would benefit from our community who are unable to afford even the smallest fee. (A friend of mine is on welfare and surfs the web at the public library using their free kiosk. He can barely put food on the table, let alone pay for subscription content on the web.)

I noticed that some of the threads that did not work were ones where someone was posting at the same time as I was trying to get access.
WrongPlanet is my first home (my apartment being my second). There are things I like about it and some frustrating things. However, I prefer learning patience to being homeless...

(Note to self - remember to pay the rent...)

Profuse thanks to the developers of this site.

I loved the "remember to pay the rent" line!

The paypal isn't up yet. Alex is working on it.

yep - i'd certainly contribute. and i wouldn't expect any "rights or responsibilities" either, so the constitution can stay as it is, in my book. i value WP very much (had cold turkey for 3 days, as i was visiting my family, and they don't have internet access), and so i'm prepared to pay something towards it. for those who can afford it (however little), i think it's a great idea. and i'm a socialist, so i don't mind subsidising those who genuinely can't afford it.

and a MAJOR thank you to alex for funding WP so far - top banana, alex :)

You're not the only one to experience a badly coded phpBB mod hose their forum. It happened to somebody else I know.

Well, it has happened to me yet. Again, sorry about ever making this topic (although it has turned in a good direction). I was extremely aggrivated when I made it. First week of school, late night after work, and I had no where to run to. Needless to say, I vented through the creation of this topic. You all got a taste of angry(dark) Ben, sorry about that.

Do you mean that you have had the problem again after Alex thought he fixed it? If so, we need to know what thread it was.
