My daughter has CAPD, diagnosed June of this year. We could not go to just any ol' audiologist, it had to be the one that charged an arm and a leg for the assessment ($500). The report was extensive (approx.20 pgs) and detailed any number of processing issues. The test was several hours long and the most prominent recommendation was that we use an FM system to help support her at school by enabling the teacher to speak clearly into the system, making it so that everyone in the classroom was getting the same volume, tone etc. and avoiding even more issues with the 20 ft. ceilings that would inevitably cause echoing to sound pretty awful!

The least complicated way it was explained to us was that it was much like "auditory dyslexia", but there is so much more to it that you would ever know unless formally tested.

Often it is lumped in with the sensory issues, but it is something all of it's own.

Oh, yeah. I might as well be considered deaf at my last job for the noise upon noise of machinery.
