Yes, why is a very dangerous question. Careful Inventor...don't make yourself sound too intriguing. You could maybe end up being someone else's fixation.

My interests are piqued by things I have read and heard about. One interest seems to lead to another. For example, if I read about a famous person from a certain country, I will read up on that country. My interest in cats came about because I have had cats and other pets all my life. I especially like Siamese because my favorite cat was Siamese.

I read somewhere that the AS obsession/fixation is literally like falling in love, the same chemical(s) is released in the brain as when fall in love!!
I liked that.
Nutrition has interested me since age 14, so about 30 years,( tho was dormant for about 9 yrs in my 20's). I have no idea why it began. I just remember making compilations by subject etc of cuttings i had collected on nutritional information. I think i liked the system; vitamins, minerals, proteins etc. Even more than astrology or handwriting analysis, dream interpretation, psychology of types ( jung, eysenck etc)or the paranormal, which were my other main teenage interests ! !
Actually my crushes on people , in the past cos haven't had one since having son, (?) were gorgeous, if often painful, totally absorbing experiences.
Otherwise plenty of totally passionate interests have been and gone, often in recent years connected to nutrition in some way, like the role of gluten in the invention of writing for instance.
They're like a crush; follow same path, inspiration, energy, immersion, fatigue, emptiness.
