I don't understand why Ron Paul is running Republican. He's way better than that. He needs his own party. Like. Pure Awesome.
Well, if he DID run as a democrate, he would NEVER win with the current ticket. If he ran as something else, besides republican, he would likely not win. BE HAPPY! As a republican, he's got a chance. meager, but he has one.
It will be interesting to see who wins the democrat ticket. I NEVER liked obama OR clinton. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if clinton gets over 40% of the female democrats, and over 10% of the male democrats just on the strength of being a woman. I HOPE it isn't higher.
ALSO, one democrat once told me, and I heard it from others, that he wants to vote for the WINNER!! !! ! Let me make this clear, like he did.... He did NOT mean that he wanted the candidate that he wanted to win to win! He wanted to vote for the one that would win. So he might have voted for clinton just because he would figure everyone else would!
Obama may get a HEAVY percentage of the black vote just because he is black. It is SICK that someone will win for such a stupid reason. Hilary is VERY much like her husband. It is like they share one brain.
Frankly, if I ran the democrat party, and wanted the best person to win, I don't think I would put more than one protected class in the primaries. Maybe they should have two primaries, or have choices listed by percentage. They could have the protected class run in one race, and have the winner run against everyone else. Otherwise, they basically split everything up, etc... It might even be silly to have a white male run against them. I even give perot a good bit of credit for getting clinton elected. Having both obama and clinton in the primary could have the same effect.
BTW This ALSO would give the winning protected class person the chance to get votes from the other persons voters. SO, if hilary won the protected class primary, she would then get the obama votes that WOULD have voted for her if obama never ran. The CATCH would be that those that wouldn't have voted for hilary would vote for someone else. Of course, if everyone was given a few choices by percentage it would be even better.

I thank the vague randomness of fate that I lucked out as a Canadian and am not subject to the random health-care system of the US. It scares me.

I've HEARD that canada has prioritization and some lack of supply regarding healthcare. Isn't that true? Of course, I probably had better healthcare than nearly every American here, and I was STILL concerned. NOW, my healthcare isn't NEARLY as good, although it is probably still better than most Americans here.
